I always loved ELA, but have been all about math this past year.
What's your favorite?
Math...funny because it was my least fave as a student.
I would say ELA, specifically comprehension lessons.
Like others, I would say ELA, because I'm a word person, avid reader from age 3, and actually love to write essays (I know, I'm weird). Strangely, lately it has been math - specifically word problems! We'll see what it will be in third grade!
For the past few years, the only subject I've taught has been Literacy. This year I'll be teaching it all and am so looking forward to it--particularly math!
ELA, especially writing. Writing drove me nuts when we first started it last year, but it was really neat to see how the kids improved over time. Some of them even said they liked writing! Now, mind you, I got about one "yay" for every four eye rolls, but sometimes you take what you can get.
I enjoy math, but what I find really fun to teach is social studies. I like the challenge of trying to engage the students in what would normally be a fairly boring subject.
I think I am going to be different and say Science
Then... ELA > Math, though I've learned to love math over the years.
Within ELA... Writing > Reading
Science science science!!! Love it! Next is math. The one that these days has been come like Kryptonite for me is ELA and guess what----------- yep it's what I'll be doing this year! hmy::mellow:
I love teaching Math! I was so excited when we departmentalized last year and I was put on the Math team. I don't miss teaching spelling or writing at all (though I still write in Math and Science). I do miss some of the literature though.
