I'm pleasantly surprised with the produce at the 99 Cent Store! They've got quite an array being the kind of cheap store that it is. The only edibles I get there sometimes are produce, water, & juice...sometimes eggs.
Well, I'm sort of in your area, or at least region, but I used to love 99 Ranch when we lived near one.
I think most of California's Targets are what were formerly known as "Super Targets," so they all have a grocery section.
We will often buy things like cereal, milk, frozen stuff, bread, or condiments there, but I don't like their produce section, and I've never tried to buy meat there.
Speaking of the grocery section of Target, Target is technically the closest store to where I live to get food from. However, more now than ever, I'm buying as much organic as possible, which Target's grocery section doesn't seem to have.
Farm Fresh is my fave, but also pretty expensive. I end doing most of my shopping at Food Lion.
