I'm trying to think of a class motto for my students. We have a school slogan, but I want something just for my class. I was thinking of one I hear from one of my workout videos..."do your best and forget the rest", but am open to other suggestions or ideas.
I am looking to change to a motivating class motto as well... I read about one teacher who has her students write their motto on EVERY SINGLE piece of paper that they turn in. Hers was "I was born a winner" Others I have heard: -Refuse to be average -The mighty oak was once a nut that stood its ground -Believe you can achieve -The Key is Me
Last year I used: "If you think you can't, think again." "There are no shortcuts to greatness." Haven't decided what to use yet this year.
this is not offical and I wont be posting it everhwere but my "theme" for the year is NO EXCUSES. I think 5th graders need to take more ownership than they do, and be responsible for more things without constant reminders or extra chances etc. i think it will help them in middle school!
Mine is pretty simple this year. It is my first time using a theme, but it is only my second year of teaching. My theme is "We Are All Stars"
Never settle for less than your best. The race isn't always to the swift but to those who keep on trying.
Last year I used,"I promise to have the courage to make mistakes and the wisdom to correct them." We recited it every day with our pledges. This year, I think I'm going to let them come up with their own or vote among some of the suggestions here. One that I like that wasn't mentioned is "If it is to be, it is up to me."
Our hallway motto is Catch the Spirit of 4th grade. We made a giant banner at the front of the hallway w/ all the teachers names on it, the slogan, and sports balls. We all have sports themed rooms. My room is football and we are just team Johnson.
