    Hello,

I have seen a thread here that talks about the Software that you can download for free and set up to grab the subbing assignments as they become available in AESOP? I can't find it now.

Is there an equivalent software that would work with SubFinder?

    Thanks.

Since AESOP added the two-digit code to the acceptance process, I don't think there is any software that auto-accepts. However, there are several that will give you an audible signal when a new posting appears, but you have to be within earshot of your computer and then quickly get to it and see if you want to accept.

Jobulator is the one developed by Frontline (same co. that runs AESOP). SubJobSearch used to be able to auto accept, but now only has an audible signal when a job is posted. There is also Assignment Assistant. . . not sure of its capabilities. Jobulator, Assignment Assistant, and SubJobSearch all charge a fee. Check4Change is an add-on you can get on Mozilla Foxfire that's free, and it will give you a audible signal too.

What is the Firefox add-on feature called? Is there any tutorial how to set up in order to work with SubFinder? Or is it something you just add to the Firefox browser and it'd work with Subfinder?

BTW, I assumer that connecting a subwoofer speaker set to the laptop and keeping the volume high would NOT increase such a signal sound? If I am wrong, please correct me.

The add-on is called Check4Change. Download it. I don't know anything about Subfinder, but with AESOP you click on Search for Job. Then you highlight the box that says "no job currently available" or whatever it says there, then right click. You should see Check4Change as an option. Click on it. Go down to "Custom" and set it up how you want it, then hit OK. Basically what you're doing is having it check for any change that appears in the box where jobs pop up. When a job pops up you will be notified by a sound (assuming you checked the box for sound notification). You can tell if it's checking by seeing that box "blink" every 10 seconds or however many seconds you indicated that you wanted it to check.

When the codes came out on Aesop, I switched to Sub Sidekick and it can auto accept.

Aren't you worried about being banned from the system if AESOP figures out that you're using an auto-accept program?

I assume you had to accept that provision like the rest of us did.

I used to use Assignment Assistant, but Aesop forced us to sign an agreement that we would not use outside software to accept assignments. I don't know how they'd be able to find out, but I'm not willing to take any chances. If they find out you are using such software, they can remove you from their site.

Yes, I did accept the provision but auto accept is really nice. I might turn off auto accept and just have SubSidekick send me a text message alert when jobs are available. The text has the job details and I could accept manually if I want it.

If I remember correctly, using an automated program wouldn't violate the provision, as long as it only checks for jobs and doesn't auto accept.
