They had an enormous display of them at Bed, Bath and Beyond today and as they say, they were "going like hotcakes". They show the infomercials around the clock, there're articles about them on AOL, Yahoo, MSN, etc.

What's the big deal?! It's a blanket with two holes in it! Why not just wear a bathrobe, sweater, sweatshirt, hoodie or god forbide lay a regular blanket across you?

If anyone out there has one please tell me what's so great about them that they are suddenly everywhere

I don't like the texture of them. If I want to "snuggle" the fabric should be really, really soft. The Snuggie is scratchy!

Um, the best thing about them is the WTF Blanket parody on youtube.

I really want one, but I think the fabric looks terrible. I get super cold in the winter, even with lots of clothes on. I always have a blanket pulled up to my chin, but then I can't do anything with my hands. It makes sense to me. lol.

I don't get the Snuggie either. However, my sister bought me a Couch Pouch for Christmas and I love it! It is like a long fleece robe that is sewn up across the bottom with ribbed openings for your feet. It zips up the front. Love it!

HAHAHA ... there is a GREAT weekend overnight radio host here in Chicago who is NUTS over snuggies! He throws them out to people at his "Brew and View" events...and then came up with the idea of a "Snuggie Pub Crawl". SO funny... unfortunately-for the snuggie wearers.. the day was TOTALLY UNSEASONABLY hot in Chicago...so they are out "crawling in snuggies" in 70+ degree weather. Some did the Project Runway thingy with their snuggies and fashionestas were born. Others DID go the Star Wars route and carried light sabres.

If interested..Yahoo images "Snuggie Pub Crawl".

They have always reminded me of strange cult robes. I'd rather wear a long robe, AND cover up with a blanket.

We laugh at the commercial at our house too....especially the sports fans sitting outside on bleachers all wearing them. How stupid!

Haha, it reminds me of the 30 rock when Liz Lemon work a "slanket" the entire episode. It never gets that *cold* where I live so no need to buy a special blanket with arm holes.

I have a confession...I own a Nuddle and love it.

    http://www.nuddleblanket.com/

It is like an expensive snuggie. I got it as a gift, although I did ask for it. I use it when I read or nap because it has holes for the arms and a high neck so I can cuddle in it. Also it have pockets for the feet which is great. And the material is really soft. My puppy and I fight over it:)

They really haven't gotten very good reviews...My 2 sons love infomercials and were tempted by the Snuggies but we managed to discourage them...just would end up on the floor with other clothes anyway...

My kids HAD to have snuggies last year, and my mom ordered them for them. I have to admit, they use them constantly. She over-ordered them (didn't know it was 2 for that price!), so we own 6! They are cheap fleece, but the kids don't mind. We put the extra 3 in our gift closet to give as a bday gift to a friend.

I asked my daughter if we should get one for all the parents on the soccer team so that we could stay warm during her late night games. She's 15, I'll leave it up to you to imagine the expression on her face!

    I'm dumber.

We have an elderly neighbor who had no heat all winter, except these ceramic heaters she bought online. Her furnace is WWII era and needed replaced, but she didn't want to spend the money. I felt so sorry for her, and so guilty to be in this warm house, that I wanted to do something for her. I ordered her one of these snuggies for when she had to be in an unheated room.
If I were wealthy, I'd have gotten her a new furace instead of a Snuggie.:D

There is now a commercial for "designer" snuggies ...animal print.

I heard somewhere there is a dog snuggie from the same company, but I don't know if it is true.

I just wanted to help her somehow. She has adult kids that do zip for her, they let her live like that, and I had to do something to help her. Wasn't much, but I hoped it would at least help a little.
