Salmon burgers last night with green beans (garlic and almond slivers). It was great. Love Lent. Tonight, I am thinking homemade pizza. I saw some at the bowling alley (we went with kids) and thought it looked good, greasy but good. So perhaps it will be cheaper at home.
Yum, I'll have to make that before the weather gets too warm. I make mine with either ground lamb or ground beef. Tonight I made an Asian chicken salad which is just panko and sesame seed crusted chicken strips on a bed of salad with almonds and crispy chinese noodles. I made my own dressing which was basically a honey mustard dressing with a little sesame oil. YUMMMMM I found this recipe about 2 months ago and my husband asked me to make it 4 times already and he hates salads!
Greek food take-out: lentil soup (for hubby), Greek salad (for me), yai yai's pasta (for each of us) and tiramisu to share MMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!
experimented for dinner and it turned out GREAT! Gnnocci (sp?),Brocoli ,Peas ,Mushrooms and Chicken YUMMO!
We had potato soup and chicken sandwiches tonight. I will have to find a crock pot recipe for Sunday, as my mom is coming over. She likes to help me bake a pie--so I think we will make raspberry pie.
Pancetta-Wrapped Shrimp all'Amatriciana from Rachel Ray http://www.rachaelray.com/recipe.php?recipe_id=2654 I am using 2 large cans of diced tomatoes (drained) instead of the grape tomatoes because I don't like tomato skins in cooked food. Otherwise, it should be delicious!
Roast beef, roasted baby potatoes, yorkshire pudding, stir-fried mushrooms, snow peas and baby carrots.
I made (excuse the spelling) Umgoshabouyna. I have no idea if that is the correct spelling. According to my Grandma it is German for Hungarian Beans. I am pretty sure we don't spell it or say it right. lol. But that's ok. Everytime my Grandma would make umgoshaboyna my pop would say "mmmm gosh". Anyway, it is basically a stew of string beans, potatoes, and smoked sausage. I love it, whatever it's called.
OMG! My mom makes the same thing! The funny thing is we're Italian  I'm sure the spices are different but the main ingredients are string beans, potatoes and smoked sausage (my grandma sometimes used pepperoni) I havn't had that in a long time!
Brown sugar meatloaf, homemade mashed potatoes, carrot casserole, and orange poppy seed bread with homemade orange butter for dessert.
Chinese salad w/ cole slaw shavings (rather than lettuce), chopped scallions, mushrooms, chopped turkey, & the authentic chinese salad dressing. I even chopped hard boiled eggs in there.
My husband got home from the Senior Trip to Disney at about 1 pm. After looking at his pictures and hearing the whole run down, we ordered ribs and wings for a 3 pm-ish lunch. So dinner will be cereal or toast or whatever.
For supper, I made scrambled eggs with ham, mushrooms, and cheese on top. Also - toast and mandarin oranges. I can't eat anything else tonight. I am having blood work done in the morning.
Made tuna noodle casserole. I followed the directions off a Campbell's can. Not as good as my moms, but still delish.
Well today I went to a bridal shower brunch and then my boyfriend and I went to tasting dinner. It had 20 different restaurants and we got to taste their food. It was yummy and I am full.
I'm trying a turkey bake casserole tomorrow night...df isn't thrilled...says he doesn't like casseroles. I actually had to promise to buy him a pizza if he doesn't like it. What a baby!! (and he's 33!! ugh) I'm very annoyed!
We had take out today - Hawaiian Time - I just couldn't get inspired to cook anything. Tomorrow is going to be ham steak, baked potatoes and green beans.
We had a German meal tonight. Breaded chicken, hot German potato salad and saurkraut. Wa, I love mole. I used to work with Hispanic cooks, and learned how to make it. The Crock Pot blog has a recipe for it, but I just use canned Mole sauce.
I just made some beautiful salads for my parents & I w/: broccoli slaw tomatoes red onions avacado mushrooms sliced turkey even paper thin slices of fresh jalapenos Sometimes, I add: sliced black olives a bit of cheese hard boiled egg We're also having sushi!
NOt sure about tonight, tomorrow night I am planning this http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ellie-krieger/chicken-cacciatore-recipe2/index.html
Ms. I sounds yummy! I love shepherds pie but every time I've made it my son gets himself into serious trouble. I know it's crazy but I don't make it anymore.Dumb, I know. We are having Hawaiian Haystacks and angle food cake with strawberries!
I'm making tuna steaks (never made them before...kinda nervous) along w/ brown rice and yellow squash.
Yes, it was! I don't know about the rest of you, but the variety of dishes we eat isn't that varied. I want to expand! I should experiment w/ what I see on the cook shows.
I love looking up recipes and trying new dishes on my boyfriend, but he can be picky. I am thinking about taking cooking classes over the summer, but I think I am a pretty decent cook
My BF is pretty simple. He's not daring when it comes to trying unique foods. If he doesn't like how it looks or if you tell him what it is & he doesn't want it, he won't even take a bite. Also, speaking of cooking lessons, the store Williams-Sonoma offers cooking lessons, but it's only ONE session. But there's a variety of types of classes to choose from. I tried one once. You're not actually cooking. The store has a stove & you're basically sitting around watching the chef, so it's like watching a live cook show. You get to eat the food & get the recipes afterwards.
Roasted Garlic pork loin, butter beans, and broccoli with cheese. Now time for ice cream with pineapple sauce
