The weather was amazing yesterday so we BBQed some hamburgers. For dessert I picked an apple off one of the trees in the yard and cooked it up with some cinnamon and sugar then poured it over vanilla ice cream!

Did a smoked Mackerel risotto last night. today I am off on a 3 day residential school trip so no cooking for me as the activity centre do all the catering. However Mrs Blazer has put a tin full of home baked chocolate cakes and a big apple cake in my bag to share around.

I need somebody to deliver something because I'm tired. Peanut butter and jelly sounds more appealing than making something. I do have nice 7 grain bakery bread.

So last nights dinner was martinis at one restaurant followed by dinner at a local restaurant which features/ seasonal menus..it's a BYOB place so we started with a Prosecco toast...then .multiple table shared appetizers, more wine, I had pappardelle with shrimp, veg and a yummy sauce for dinner...then we all shared different desserts...crime brûlée, blueberry bread pudding and a salted caramel brownie.

That's a great deal for the squash, Diz! I has excited to get a huge butternut squash at the farmers' market for $4! I like spaghetti squash roasted, then seasoned with butter, parmesan cheese and a little diced bacon. It's also great with tomato sauce and meatballs. My butternut squash will be made into soup, but the link to my favourite soup is broken and I can't find the recipe anywhere else!:(

My friend and I are cooking dinner for four families who are currently without homes. They are staying in a local church. We made chili, Mac and cheese, salad, homemade applesauce, rolls, cookies, and cake. After serving them we'll sit and eat with them.
