We're on the road again. Dinner was a big bucket of popcorn at my daughter's soccer game, followed by quesadillas at a little Mexican place after the game.

Tonight, we'll take her out for a nice dinner.

    Just had homemade lasagne.

Tomorrow we have our US friends over again. They have had 2 and a half weeks of British hospitality and so tomorrow we are planning a French night.

Pastis with savoury cakes as an aperitif. French onion soup with freshly baked bread. Snails, Cock au vin, French cheeses and to follow Creme Brulee (The French always have the sweet after the cheese unlike in the UK where we usually finish with the cheese). I have got in some French beer and have pulled a few bottles of French wine from the store cupboard. May even run to a bottle of real Champagne.

Then they return to stay with other friends before having a few days in London and they flying home. Don't know why they go to London. Apart from the Queen no-one British lives there!

The recipe is from Allrecipes.com. It is called Brown Sugar Meatloaf. There are several recipes. I use the one by tangastar. It really hit the spot on the dreary, rainy night. Enjoy.

Follow recipe exactly. I remove the meat from their pan when done. There is fat from the meat on top of the sauce. I skim it off then pour the sauce over the meat. I process my crackers in a mini food processor. If I don't have saltines I use panko.
