Went out for an early dinner with my mom and I had an open-faced hot turkey sandwich w/gravy, mashed potatoes & corn on the cob! We shared a slice of cheesecake for dessert
You guys all sound like such great cooks. I wish we could all get together for a big potluck! We just moved into our new house (after a four-month fiasco) and haven't yet unpacked our kitchen stuff. We will be getting takeout (again) (sigh).
A stew of lamb shanks, beet, and yellow lentil flavored with whole coriander, caraway, black mustard, and ajowan seeds, freshly ground pepper, and a hefty shot of lemon juice, the whole thickened with mashed potato because the diners chose a stewier presentation rather than a soupier one. The member of the household who is not a fan of lamb served up a bowlful sans sheep and, at last count, was nomming as happily as the one who never met the lamb dish she didn't like.
I have 2 to go to potato soup recipes... One for crock pot & one that takes a little less than hour including potato peeling & cooking. Banana cake turned out good even though I was supposed to put some crumbs in the middle ( they were all on top) still good & had it for bfast as well!! Taco Tuesday here.
Stuffed peppers here as well last night. Tonight--chili-lime chicken breasts in the slow cooker, corn on the cob and fingerling potatoes.
Making frijatas, farmer's market corn on the cob, and trying out a new recipe for a green bean salad. Blueberry crisp for dessert.
Went to the diner with my brother for dinner... Bacon cheeseburger, seasoned fries, cole slaw and a big pickle
Pre-seasoned garlic pork roast, corn on the cob, potatoes/gravy and organic salad with garden cherry tomatoes.
Burgers tonight.... they are the best... we buy from local smoke house... made with brisket, bacon, sirloin & ground beef!!! YUM!!!
Whenever.... Lol!!! We had them last weekend over bonfire. Thinking I need tongo make a bonfire. Lol!!!
Something eAsy. Leftover Chinese and salad. We've been walking the Barclays golf tournament for 2 days. No cooking.
So dinner ended up being broccoli slaw dressed with soy, garlic chili sauce, eeiyaki and sesame.... Topped with toasted pumpkin seeds, sesame sticks and pine nuts ...plus those crunchy Chinese noodles and a scoop of referee rice. Way to make leftovers new and gourmet. :thumb:
Teacher NY... They were yummy over bonfire. Also made smores. I had a couple chocolate covered potato chips though.
Toasted ham & cheese on a hard roll, baby dill pickles w/cape cod chips and home made Italian ice for dessert!
Repeat of this today (all organic veggies)! For dessert, I have a choice of organic strawberries & pina colada, green tea, &/or organic cinnamon pumpkin ice cream.
I made pesto from the basil in my herb garden to put over pasta for tonight with grilled chicken and big salad.
