I ate at a nearby state park lodge. It's seafood buffet night. It's my BFF's birthday tomorrow, so her dad took us all out to eat. Both of her parents, her brother, her daughter, and her nephew. We had a good time. And I'm stuffed.
Tonight I am making a special requested dinner for my husband that I absolutely loathe (a yucky chicken recipe that my MIL makes LOLOL) so I get to pick someone just for ME! Maybe I will treat myself to takeout or just make something decadent that I don't usually make. Decisions, decisions...
It was good! I hadn't had PJ's in ages & it's better than Pizza Hut & Little Caesar's. I'll have to see how Domino's was again to see. Round Table, to me, is THE BEST chain pizza place! Maybe since you're making your husband something you don't like, now's the time to try that PJ's!
In my North Jersey area most people order from local family owned Italian places. There's nothing like a NY/NJ style pizza. Not only do these places have great pizza, bit also homemade soups, sandwiches, pasta dishes, calzone and Stromboli as well as other great menu items available for take out. Yum. I feel the same way about NY bagels...just not the same once you leave the metro area.
It's a grey day with a mix of snow and rain in the air--perfect day for chili with ground turkey and lots of veggies!
I had big a toasted ham and cheese grinder with baby dill pickles on the side and my moms potato salad. Had a very late lunch (3:30 ish) so I am skipping dinner and just going right to dessert tonight
I ended up making my own dinner. Stuffed mushrooms, some assorted cheese from a gourmet market with sliced Gala apples and some wine! I'm sure I'll get to try PJ's someday.
Oh, we have some yummy non-chain pizza places around here. Sometimes if I have off from school I'll walk into town and have a slice (about 3 miles round trip). That way I don't feel guilty about eating pizza since I burned all those calories walking!!
DH made dinner last night--meatloaf (made with ground venison) and his special glaze recipe, mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli. We'll probably eat up the leftovers today...
A pork roast is marinating (apricot nectar, ponzu sauce, garlic and ginger); I'll bake it with sweet potatoes, onions and apples.
I'm making a big pot of spinach orzo soup, a tossed salad with candied walnuts, chopped apples and feta, garlc bread
We had turkey. Last one till Thanksgiving!!! Hubby bought 2 pie yesterday at local place... apple and an apple, blueberry & cherry...so YUMMY!!! Pie for dessert.
I made cavatelli with broccoli and threw in some shrimp. Later, I'll have the banana bread I made yesterday for a treat.
Actually funny you say that because that pie place makes pot pies so we had a beef pot pie & then pie for dessert.... Um...we do pie for bfast... LOL!!!
A huge cold front came through this afternoon which made for a perfect "comfort food" night. Home made turkey pot pie for dinner!
Probably trying lasagna bolognese al forno from Brio Tuscan Grille. There's only 2 restaurant locations in my state & they're having a Veteran's Day promo.
Last night, made my salad w/ all I like to put in: - herb lettuce mix - sliced blk olives (sometimes) - ranch dressing - chicken - a generous amt of red onions - hard boiled egg - avocado - grape tomatoes - dry seasoning (Rachel Ray's 24/7 Grinder, which is good for practically everything!) Tonight, don't know yet!
Tonight we are having parent-teacher interviews from 3:15 - 8:00 and our admin team is providing dinner for us. Not 100% positive, but it will probably be an assortment of sandwiches and wraps, salads, fruit and cookies.
DH went to Asian market and bought all kinds of dumplings, spring rolls and sauces...steaming some, frying others...DH making fried rice..yeah, I've got it good...sipping on Chard and watching my cute hubby do his thing in the kitchen.
Hotel room dinner tonight--I'm on the road to visit my daughter: kale, pear and grape salad, cheese, deli chicken breast, chocolate mousse and a peach margarita (from a bottle)!
I know it's going to be stew-ish and involve chicken and navy beans and eggplant and Chinese celery, and it's probably going to include the thyme, oregano, and rosemary I just harvested... but I won't actually start cooking it for another hour, so the rest remains to be seen. Though I might separately roast a pan of parsley roots and beets.
Moms chicken noodle soup.... I have a cold today and its rainy, windy and 29 degrees here, it really hit the spot
