It's a tomato soup and grilled cheese kind of day here.
Chicken Tacos for men
Salmon for me:thumb:
I love those days, especially when fall weather hits!
Didn't get home until almost 8 due to Meet the Teacher Night- dinner had to be easy and quick. I had egg and cheese tacos, sweet potato tots, and a bowl of fresh cherries.

I'm getting lots of good ideas from this thread. I went out with family to celebrate my nephew's 21st birthday! I had scallops with rice pilaf and spinach. And we all had drinks to celebrate with the nephew!
I need to eat just all fruit all day. I have bananas & peaches.
Just threw a small roast into the slow cooker. I'll decide later what to serve with it.
Actually, tonight it's probably:
- stuffed portabella mushrooms
- small salad
Tonight is Mexican dinner out with some friends who are moving away.
Lemon rosemary pork loin with roasted veggies!
I made about 10 dinners ahead and froze them so now I just have to defrost and throw in the oven! I think I'm going to try to do this every other weekend.
I need to get some inspiration before I get to the grocery store on my way home...
I had this problem for the longest time until I started making a weekly menu. I would wander around the store for an hour trying to figure out what to buy.
I need to get back onto menu planning. I used to do a better job of it when it was just me. I do like to see what's on sale when I make my menus, though.
The last year was goofy, because I usually cooked when my fiance came to visit on the weekends, and then I had leftovers during the week. Now that we're married, we're still trying to settle into a routine...
I went out for pizza last night with my brothers and their wives..we were going to have Chinese food but we decided on pizza..so I (stole) the last 2 slices of mushroom pizza for dinner tonight-------YUM!:haha:
Last night we had chicken ranch paninis-they were so good! I don’t have a panini press, but a plate with a big can of beans did the trick. :thumb: I also made a corn and zucchini succotash, which I only made because I didn’t have enough of either fresh corn or zucchini for all 5 of us, so I threw them together. My hubby LOVED it. He cleaned out the pan, which he normally doesn’t do! Sometimes those throw togethers are the best.
He gave me the best compliment too. He said “I looked in the cupboard and thought we were heading for take-out pizza. You look in and make some fantastic sandwich and an awesome vegetable. I would starve without you!”
Jeez I love that man!
Tonight, I have to golf so I put a roast in the slow cooker this morning. Hubby will have to make the cabbage on his own. Yes, I left directions.
Rotisserie chicken, roasted veggies, hummus, and pita bread. Easy and yummy.
Pizza. I almost always cook but I am burnt out! Attended a 6 hour training session on Fundations, the phonics program my school is adopting. The presenter should attend her own training on presentations.(at least I got paid)
ohhh subway any where is good:haha:
My hoosband grilled some chicken, along with asparagus and potatoes. Yummy!
I made TeacherNY's crustless quiche. It was very good!

GREAT! I had a few friends try it recently and they thought it was really good. I will probably make another one on Sunday.
I am having frittata with tomato & cucumber salad
After working in my classroom for about 8 hours today, I think all I'll be up for 'making' is a roast chicken and fries from the deli!
Tonight is baked chicken thighs in a scampi seasoning (another freezer meal) with peas and carrots and maybe caprese salad.
My hubby and I just started NutriSystem, but it is my birthday so I may be up for a little treat...
If not I'll have a salad and a NutriSystem dinner. I haven't tried a few of them yet, so I'll get to look at that when I get home. I both love and hate NutriSystem. I never have to think about what I'm eating, but I never get much variety. I have lost seven pounds, though, so it's hard to argue with that!
Doesn't Nutrisystem come with desserts also> Maybe they have a little cake you can put a candle in for your birthday!
It does. I mostly ordered the salty snacks, though. The cakes are pretty gross!
Haha maybe they make things gross so you eat less! I know someone who bought the kit from Walmart I think. She said it wasn't bad but mostly it helps with portion control.
I plan to have frozen yogurt for dinner. I had a nice-sized breakfast & I don't want to eat much today.
Since I am finally done with summer school I am treating myself to frozen yogurt on Friday. I'm going to the place where you can make your own sundae with toppings and different flavors of frozen yogurt. It will probably be my lunch and I'll have to have a very light dinner!
This is mostly true. The food is okay, but it isn't anything to write home about (though my hubby and I are blogging about our experience...) I find the salty desserts much more gratifying than the sweet ones so far. I haven't tried everything, though.
Dinner out again tonight....meeting two of my former 'room moms' who ave become my friends.
Ran 2 mikes this morning since we were out last night and tomorrow we'll be at the Barclays golf tournament walking all day, so I'm not worried about two meals out this week!:thumb:
I made this shrimp cobb salad tonight. It was delicious and everyone cleaned their plate:
Well, I didn't end up getting yogurt, so I was just going to swing by Jack in the Box to get a smoothie...bad idea! My BF was in the car w/ me & more than likely never turns down good food, so I ended up getting food too AND the strawberry banana smoothie. I need to work on my will power!
By the way, I have a few self-serve frozen yogurt places in my area & I'm so glad! Did you ever try taro flavor yet? It's good!
Dinner out was lovely. We ate outside at a lovely bistro...French food. We all had moules-frites. Now that's some good eats! Talked so long we were one of the last tables there at 10:30...Yum...

I got that Veggetti from Bed Bath & Beyond today. I can't wait to make zucchini noodles too!
You will love the zucchini noodles!
I did look for the taro flavor but they didn't it. They did have a lot of good flavors though!
Taro, for some unknown reason to me, seems to be a limited time flavor, but it comes & goes repeatedly. Try to get it next time!
Yes, hopefully, I won't even miss not eating actual pasta anymore!
Souplantation w/ a friend!
