Finally, NO tests to take this weekend!!!...but it resumes next weekend. I'm gong to relax & take advantage!
My daughter is home for a day or two, so we are planning some shopping today as she needs another suit for her upcoming law school events. I hope to find some new shoes, also. Tomorrow I am going out to help campaign for our district's levy; I HATE how Ohio "funds" schools.
Today: the orthodontist, food shopping, laundry, then out to dinner with my sister and brother in law. I've already planned out the week's lessons, done a bunch of stuff for NHS, downloaded some stuff to my class webpage, found a worksheet for Halloween, and done some groundwork for my daughter's Confirmation project. Tomorrow: birthday party for my friend's daughter.
I just woke up! Sleep was glorious! I think we're hitting the beach today. I definitely want to pick up and clean my office. And then maybe some dinner out with live music.
School work: Annual Learning Plan, plans for the week, marking, start on progress reports House work: Wash the kitchen floor, clean bathrooms, vacuum, laundry Cooking: cauliflower soup, veggie chili Whew....that's a lot!
I'm going to court days with a friend. I'm not sure how to explain court days. Non-locals looks at me like I have grown an extra head when I talk about it. It's great. They have everything you never knew you needed. They have the Asian guy with $1 jewelry, the African guys with purses, fresh pork rings, deep fried everything, gun trading, clothes, antiques, tools. There are yard sales everything alone the road to the court days town. I pay $5 to park in a field. It's been raining, so I'm glad I have 4-wheel drive. For $2 they'll drive you from the field to the event on a hay wagon. Yeah, good redneck fun.
I'm on fall break, so I'm visiting my fiance for the weekend. I got all my grading done on Friday when he was in class, and will do my plans then on Monday, so I can enjoy a school-free couple days. His parents are in town as well, so last night was dinner, cards, and visiting with them. This morning he and his dad are golfing, and I'm enjoying a relaxing morning of just hanging around, reading, and sewing. I'm not sure what the plans for the rest of the day will be. Tomorrow afternoon there is a free Bach concert that I'm super excited to check out!
Got chiropractic adjustment (dh and I go together once a month) Errands...dry cleaning, dropped off items from my closet clean out in charity box Stopped at clothing store...I wanted to pick up two tops in different colors, same style I got last week. Dh found an awesome pair of jeans for me too! Now I've got laundry going, I'm riding stationary bike...then shower and lunch with hubs while we watch Navy football. Looks like yard stuff later...bring in pots that summered outside, put chrysanthemums in pots on either side of front door, decorate for autumn. I love days when I'm with dh all day...we're so busy all week, anything we do as long as we're together is great.
I'm moving... My back is killing me and I almost twisted my ankle last night, but I'm up and running. My back already hurt when I woke up yesterday, before I even picked up a box. Maybe I slept wrong. We did a lot with my daughter, but now she's gone for 2 days on an overnight band trip. We're supposed to do small stuff this weekend and during the week and then next weekend I'll hire a couple of guys with a truck for the big furniture. Today I won't be picking up boxes, but I can take down all the shelves, decorations, curtains, etc and put up a lot of that at the new house. And everything we took over there (a lot of clothes, dishes, books) already unpacked, and put away what we could. So hopefully it won't be overwhelming to unpack an entire house. The weather is so beautiful here. Still a little warm, but it's that autumn weather, crisp, not hot, just the perfect temperature. I'm so happy with my new house. For the first time in my life I'll have a garage! Even if my car is in there, I have room to make an exercise area. And there is a separate room in there, perfect for a sewing room: a huge built in desk that's perfect for cutting fabric, with drawers and shelves, enough room for my sewing table, and to put everything away and still move around. It's separated from the garage with glass sliding doors, so I won't even feel claustrophobic
Nice is a relative term since it's cloudy and about 40 degrees here. I am watching the last of the leaves fall off the trees while cleaning the kitchen - not too glamorous, but I will feel great when it is done!
It was nasty and rainy here. I was supposed to be a vendor at a fall festival (for Thirty-One- I'm a consultant), but I opted not to go. 45 and rain? Not only will I freeze, but few people will even attend! Instead, I caught up on TV for the week, took a nap, cleaned my living area (I'm still stuck at my parents' house), and I'm getting ready to grade a ton of papers. Luckily, the Fall Festival is 2 days, and tomorrow is supposed to be cool, but sunny. Hopefully twice as many people will come tomorrow and I will get a lot of sales!!
I've been sewing Christmas jammies for my grandkids, dil's, and myself. All matching christmas fabric. It was the Great Mississippi Balloon Races in Natchez , but I decided to stay home and craft
Had a nice surprise birthday party at Pizza Hut. Thirty isn't so bad! Also got $170 donated to our school for volunteering today... My principal says that can go towards something for my class!
Planned on doing house stuff but the power was out all day. And it got dark around 1pm when it started raining. So I took a long nap
Today is the Catholic High School Entrance Exam. I'm not proctoring, but I am supervising the NHS kids who are assisting. So I've just made up a test and a quiz for this week... as long as I'll be in school anyway, I may as well copy them.
1. Raking (I think I say this every Saturday!) Done! 2. Laundry Done! 3. Cleaning around the house Done! 4. Report cards Here we go! 5. Friends over for supper Making some progress on the list! Off to pick up food for tonight, then it's time for report cards. ETA: Met my goal for how much I wanted to complete on report cards. Feeling good... hopefully my admin doesn't change too much on the reports this week that will cause all this work to be in vain!
Wedding planning for me this weekend (my mom is down visiting). This morning, we're going dress shopping again. I found one I like, but I'm just not absolutely sure about it, so we're trying a totally different place. Then we are working on Save the Date cards, invitations, and decorations...
Sounds like fun, amakaye! Should be raking leaves, grading, but instead am reading a new book by a favorite author and just popped in here. Must get motivated soon!
This weekend, I'm back to the grind with reading & test-taking. I'm so tired of school by now, I can't wait to graduate & be done with it!
I did some dishes earlier today. I have a ton of other cleaning to do, but I'm not motivated at all, so I probably won't do it. My darling hoosband and I have our date night tonight: dinner out, followed by a professional hockey game. I'm very excited!
I've been lazy. Didn't get up until 2:00. I'm going to carve a pumpkin and make my Halloween costume.
I had a different week this week. Nothing due this weekend for grad school, but there's ALWAYS something I could be doing for it. I'll probably see the movies Last Vegas & Escape Plan.
Daughter and I are just hanging out today, might do some light housework that needs to be done. Tonight we're going to see one of her friends in the local high school's production on The Wizard of Oz. Her friend is a munchkin.
Windy and rain showers today with falling temps. It's just as well, as I have progress reports to write and housework to catch up on.
Went to nephew's frosh football game this morning, tutored, ran errands, watching Navy football right now with laundry going...dh helped me swirl around main floor of house...he dusted vacuumed, I did kitchen. Tomorrow is yard work. We were away last weekend so this weekend we need to catch up on all the piles, but we make time for fun too.
Okay, I finished enough of the report cards that I can take a break... thank goodness for leftover Halloween treats! They helped me through the afternoon. Now to prep for Monday. The joys of teaching- they never end. Tomorrow I will take the entire day for myself
