I've dropped my daughter off at a friend's house, cleaned the house, went to the grocery store, and ate lunch. I'm now relaxing on the couch with my pups.
Haha that's exactly why I like it! I don't really like Halloween, but I love cutesy Disney Halloween. I did Knott's Scary Farm once, and while I was glad to do it once, I will never go again. Lol.
Nursing family and myself. Back to school crud! Gotta love it. The good news is when I went to the store for more cold medicine there was a bake sale and some yummy baked goods came home with me. Hmmm. Wonder if they are laced with back to school crud!
It's the annual Holy War! BYU vs. UofU, a rivalry that hasn't died despite the fact that they don't actually compete against each other anymore, and haven't for several years. Go Utes!
I did a 4-hour shift with Habitat for Humanity and took a nice nap. I cut-and-pasted my team's map into my lesson plans. Tomorrow I need to figure out my guided reading groups and get them into a rotation. I struggle with this SO MUCH. Going to take it easy tonight with a book or a movie and maybe tidy my house.
That last sentence of yours is music to my ears!!! I'm not very happy these days & I'd love to be doing that without a care in the world! I've been going to school for a looooong time & frankly I'm utterly sick of it, but I don't graduate from this 2nd grad program of mine until NEXT Dec. I sure won't drop out...I've come way too far. I don't even feel like opening another textbook! I wish I had my dog again that passed in Feb. On top of that, I don't like my new job. I'm fed up with it all! Never went to Knotts Scary Farm or Six Flags Magic Mtn during Halloween. Maybe I should finally try going this Halloween. If I have an annual pass for Magic Mtn, do you know if I'd have to still pay to go for their special Halloween days since it's a special event thing? I coud call them, but just wanted to see if youu knew.
I'll have to admit ignorance about Magic Mtn. I know Disneyland makes you pay extra for their Halloween stuff, but that's Disney. I didn't actually know Magic Mtn HAS Halloween nights, so I'm not much help! :sorry:
MsI. My dogs really do keep me sane. If it weren't for them, I don't know how I would handle what I've had to handle in the past (and currently dealing with).
smalltowngal, I hear you! I wish I still had my dog righ now to cuddle up with! Well, I'm off for a bit to spend my $10 Kohl's gift card, then bring home something for brunch. Then, it's back home probably the rest of the day to alternate watching my shows I DVR'd, doing HW & reading, & working on this exciting project of mine!
Ms. I. Today we're going to a baseball game for one of J's friends and then she has a softball game at 3. We might go to the movies tonight. I haven't decided yet.
I'm stuck inside writing progress reports, entering grades, scheduling guided reading rotations, and planning. I'm really behind and have to spend the weekend catching up before I drown
My birthday is tomorrow but we're going to go out tonight to celebrate. Probably just dinner. I'm feeling nauseous and gross right now, so I hope I feel better later tonight!
It's pouring rain so I cleaned the house and now I'm off to the mall and out for supper with a friend.
Diz~sounds like a great day!! a2z~I hope that the sun is shining on her! FFH~happy early bday! Well, softball game was cancelled due to rain.
My mom, Mom's boyfriend, the neighbor guy, and I worked around my house all day. assembled lawn sweeper swept front yard put screens in windows cleaned bedroom windows swept back porch swept out garage cleaned a few things in garage Now I have to vacuum the floors in the den. We used the back door all day today, so I've got leaves and grass on the carpet and rugs. After that, I think I'll take a shower before I get my sheets out of the dryer. I think I'm too dirty to touch them right now.
I went shopping for bridesmaid dresses with my best friend from college and my best friend where I teach now. We found a really nice one; now I just need to have my one other bridesmaid try it on before we make the final decision. And I got to show them my dress. Then we had some fun shopping and going out to lunch. Now I'm taking a little time to relax before tackling the mess that is my kitchen...
Drove home from Lauren's school yesterday; road closures, detours and pouring rain added a little over an hour to the trip. Today, grocery shopping, laundry, school work and laptop shopping.
Yesterday I did some raking - my neighbour came to help, which was really sweet. My mom stopped in so we went to lunch and then shopping. Came home and resumed with raking. Then I made a pot of soup, cleaned up the house (too many projects on the go!) and collapsed on the couch.
Friday night we met a college friend of mine and her dh down the shore for dinner. Lots of laughs, wine and good food. We stayed at an elegant B&B so yesterday I woke up at the beach! Took a relaxing shower in the jacuzzi jet shower, walk on the beach with my love, awesome breakfast at the B&B....eggs Benedict over spinach on croissants, yogurt parfait...heaven! A little football watching and napping inthe afternoon when we got home. Dh made crabcakes with remoulade sauce for dinner.
Yesterday was chore day for me. I wanted to walk up to our town's Oktoberfest to grab lunch and a famous apple dumpling (my favorites!) but it rained/stormed off and on all day. I didn't feel like dealing with parking, so I stayed home.
Yesterday it was a nice day and I had to work but since today I'm free it's POURING rain! I have errands to run but I don't feel like going out
Yesterday I had a wedding shower for my soon to be sister in law. I went down there with my other sister in law (ex's sister) and ended up staying at her house til about 9 just talking and hanging out while the kids played. Today I'm headed over to AT&T Stadium for a tailgate party that my uncle is doing (he used to live in Denver) so I'm looking forward to that. I really wish I could be IN the stadium during the game. Oh well...maybe I can go catch the game in a sports place somewhere.
Friday night my sister came over to pick up my girls for a sleepover. She brought a bottle of wine, and we Christened my new kitchen. Yesterday, I had to work Open House at school. Then I came home and tackled some of the million loads of laundry that come up this time of year as I try to get the summer stuff put away and the fall/winter stuff out. Today, we went to mass then the Diner. I just finished my progress grades (due Tuesday.) When the girls come home from the mall, they want to come food shopping with me so we can start to stock the fridge and pantry. How funny.... it's just drizzling here.
My esposo and I are going to make a video of us dancing. We've been going to dance classes and have learned some pretty sweet moves. I'm going to send the video to my mom. One of her good friends passed recently and I think it would cheer her up.
SAT - "lovely" morning at the auto dismantling junkyard with the bf. He wanted a couple of truck parts & they had a 50% off weekend sale. grocery shopping in which I used more coupons at one time than ever before back home for reading & relaxing SUN - reading/studying/test-taking for grad class fashion show with mom in the evening
Saturday--Thanksgiving dinner with my sister, brother-in-law, husband and son. Sunday--5.5 hour drive, then college soccer game and tailgate. Dinner night with both my kids!
Saturday - cleaned the house from top to bottom. It's spotless! Sunday - Thanksgiving with my family at my aunt's house and a trip to Ikea... decorating inspiration struck while I was cleaning on Saturday Monday - (Canadian Thanksgiving - no school!) - movie afternoon with some girlfriends. I should also do some prep for the upcoming week .
Well, it's a Monday, but we're off for Columbus Day... YAY!!!! Our first "real" day off since school started. I'm taking my 2 girls shopping for fall clothes. I love this day-- I get to spend real time with them. (My son could not care less. He knows I know his size, and if I can pick up a pair of jeans and a T shirt from Aeropostale he'll be thrilled to stay home. This is where the adopted thing comes in.. he's missing the shopping gene that the rest of us have.)
Your son sounds exactly like mine, Alice! We did drag him out to Kohls with us yesterday and we found him a nice dress shirt on the clearance rack. The biggest concession he would make to trying it on was putting it on over his t-shirt and pulling the front closed. Have fun shopping!
I'm off every Monday, so today it's: - wanted to go walking this morning, but couldn't this time - making tons of phone calls for grad school matter - a little shopping at Costco - start some grad homework due this week
