Loveley weather today so dragged the garden furniture out of the shed, oiled the wood and set it up. Then had the in laws over for a BBQ. Had to run into the garden room when the heavens opened and we had a thunderstorm for an hour. Now watching a James Bond movie and sipping a Martini or two!
Some major spring cleaning and organization this morning. Now sipping a mint julep- dh won some money on his Kentucky Derby bet.
Our lawn mower broke a few weeks ago...hubby & friend basically had to replace all the pulleys, so I mowed today. After that we spent the afternoon outside...
We finished up on June 15th and I made a promise to myself that for the first few days I was just going to relax...get into my ''summer'' mode and really just enjoy being home for a bit..not even working my computer job this weekend..i'll start that up again on Monday. All I did today was just lounge around my apartment, sat out on my deck, did a little cooking and watched tv...tomorrow I have plans for breakfast
Sooo hot today!!! Watered our garden & flowers. Checked on our best full of Robins (2 set of eggs this year... we thought rabbits were busy.. lol). Hubby made pulled pork. I put a jug to make sun tea. Finished Father's day stuff.
This past weekend... - had a conference call - went on morning walks - worked I haven't been to the movies in a while!
Coolest day in about a week...we went blueberry picking. Picked about an hour & picked about 15 pounds!!! Yay.
Preparing sample lesson and 2 LPs for an interview on Monday. Going to dinner tonight with GF and her father, so that will be a fun diversion from reality for awhile.
I took a teaching test (now I have to wait a month to get the score report) I walked around down town as it's "summer fest" (all the wonderfully behaved children running around ) LOL TAG YOU'RE IT, parents! Birthday dinner w/ the family
I am home today..its uncomfortably hot outside..we have an air quality alert as well so I have been indoors eating, watching tv and relaxing!!!! I'm enjoying an Italian Ice right now while surfing the internet. Tomorrow will be a busier day. I have a family dinner to go to, my cousin graduated from Nursing school so my aunt is having everyone meet at a local restaurant for an early buffet style dinner to celebrate Then I begin week 3 of Summer school Monday!!!!!!!!

Called in on our friends' little girl's first birthday party then took our visiting American friend to Stratford upon Avon and did the tourist thing with him. Finished off with a barbecue in the garden.

Having a mini vacation on LongBeach Island. It was absolutely gorgeous outside today so we spent most of it at the beach. Now drinking on the porch overlooking the water
Thanks! It is a bummer, but at least I should be pretty mobile in a walking boot by the time school starts again so I won't miss any work (old building, no elevator, third floor classroom).
I went to the Drive In movies. Ghostbusters was really good. The Shallows was ridiculous. Don't waste your money!
TeacherNY, Shallows was one I wanted to see too, but didn't yet. I was hoping it wouldn't be cheesy, but guess it is.
Well, it depends on what kind of movies you like but let's just say even though it was supposed to be scary, all I did was laugh. It was really annoying too when the characters were talking on their cell phones or texting and shots of the screen kept popping up all over. I was actually cheering for the shark at one point.
Since I'm back to work now & every day is no longer a Sat. for me, today, I did the following: - morning walking - got stuff at beauty supply place - got stuff at Rite Aid - got couple things at OfficeMax - picked up clothes from cleaners - went to grocery store - got a smoothie on the way back home Tomorrow, will be morning walking & probably more relaxing.
We got up and ran to Sam 's club. It was storming. We stopped for bfast, shopped... longer than we planned because we could hear the rain pounding on the roof. Lol. We also stopped for lunch. Came home and sun was out!! Threw a frisbee after dinner for a few mins before the mosquitoes came out!
We were at the Barclays golf tournament at Bethpage in NY on Friday and Saturday. Bubba Watson signed my golf cap!
Yay, it's Labor Day wknd! This is the opening weekend of the fair close to my area & since my BF & my schedules are not too similar these days, we'll probably go on Monday. There's finally a movie or two out that I'd like to maybe see too. I wish I had EVERY Monday off!
This weekend, I will be: - Visiting my husband's grandmother. - Catching up on grading. - Getting ahead on lesson plans. - Cleaning my house. I've gotten a bit behind this school year. My course load is kicking my butt.
Fri night - Went to the fair after work! Sat - Morning walk, Target, drop off/pick up BF from work while truck's engine's being rebuilt, cleaners, post office, Sephora & Ulta to rtn/exch items, bank, got plants at Lowe's, & maybe the movies, otherwise relax at home! Sun - Morning walk, take & p/u BF from work again, grocery shopped, relax, get things ready for work for Monday.
Last night (Friday) went out for a drink with a girl from work. I met a guy online, invited him to join us. He's an English teacher at the nearby high school - we totally hit it off Today I ran errands, then I'm going dove hunting. Then a date with the teacher. Tomorrow, get my hair done, and then possibly some more dove hunting (season closes in 5 days). then cook my lunches for next week, chores and relaxing. Next weekend deer season starts, so I'll go up in the mountains (Shaver Lake) with a friend and his daughters, stay the whole weekend camping, hanging out and hunting. Can't wait.
Did some running around. Went to our favorite apple orchard...got unpasteurized cider and donuts. Lol. It was a weird weather day would rain then stop all day. Watched some football both mine & hubby's teams (2different ones)both won! Had dinner with parents. They had some gifts from their camping trip for us. Yrs we still get presents... lol.
So nice being able to have the windows wide open today! I spent a good chunk of time yesterday reading (had to finish All the Missing Girls) and catching up on some much-needed sleep. Today, I'm doing laundry, doing some marking, fine-tuning my first math, geography and science units, and doing some meal prep for the week ahead.
Lovely day here, too! We slept with the windows open, and it got down to the high 40s last night. It was wonderful. This afternoon I am watching football and then heading to school.
