Watching it snow... Built a tiny snowman earlier. So pretty out. Wet snow just sitting on the trees!!!
I went to a Christmas craft show this morning with a friend from work; I bought a new wreath and some ornaments for gifts for my mom and sister. It's a gloomy day; I'll spend the rest finishing my book and working on report cards.
Working at school! I'm getting things ready for the rest of the semester as far as planning goes so that I I can start getting ready for next semester. That way I can take the entire Christmas break off and not worry about school!
Went to paint store, wine shop and dry cleaners. Then got nails done. It's date night tonight. DH and I going out for dinner and then to see a band with some new friends.
Had surgery yesterday so I'm spending the week on my couch. I recently moved so luckily I had my wifi and cable set up a few days ago!
Browsed in bookstore & got 2 more coloring books & a word search book. Grocery shopped & that's about it. I'll probably do some work on the computer, then relax for the rest of the night.
Organic kale salad w/ corn salsa & spicy chicken & 2 small carne asada street tacos. Meant to put in Dinner thread.
This Saturday I am taking a bunch of pupils from my school to a hockey game. For the majority of them it will be their first ever game. They will be in for a shock when the first check goes in!
Slept late, breakfast in bed. Then we went to post office for holiday stamps for Christmas cards, other in town errands...I love my small town. Holiday lighs in the stores, strolling Broadway with a cup of coffee, stopping in the hardware store where the family members who own the store are incredibly knowledgeable and so helpful... Spontaneous stop by a local restaurant with dh for a lunchtime margarita and appies... Put up our Christmas lights and pine roping on the porch. I emptied the fall plantings out of the large pots and refilled with white branches, holly and pine clippings from our gardens. So pretty. Getting ready for date night! Going to see Mannheim Steamroller tonight. My anniversary gift to dh.... Hope you are all enjoying the joys this season has to offer.
Grocery shopping this morning, then went for a new hair colour and cut. Relaxed this afternoon, curled up with a book!
Just got in from the Hockey. Wonder of wonders we won 2-0. The kids loved it. (there were 2 fights) and now they want to go again next week!
I had a free Sat & saw the movies Krampus and The Night Before. They were good. Krampus got got a little bit cheesy before the very end. I won't say anymore in case someone else wants to watch it.
Yesterday we watched Navy beat Army for the 14th year in a row...close one, nail biter, though. Then holiday party at American Legion.
We enjoyed our unseasonably warm day. Put house plants out. Just to get out was awesome!! Today still warm but it has rained on & off!
Went to pick out our Christmas tree yesterday and I decorated it today. It always takes me a long time--every ornament has a memory!
TeacherNY... I always think when get stuff out...can't wait to see that one. Like they've changed. Lol!!! I have a bunch of Xmas snowglobes...used to collect them.
Cleared frozen stuff...ice, pellets, snow off deck about 4 inches thick in spots. Now waiting on snow... Lol!!! 6 or more inches!!! We wanted to get some of the weight off the deck & make it easier to snow blow!!! Yes we have a little snowblower for our deck!!!
Grey, rainy day here. Spend most of the afternoon reading--have set a goal to read 100 books in 2016!
Good luck, Mrs. C! I love to read, so maybe I should keep track, but I think I have already read 3 books this year but don't have the titles.
Went quilt fabric shopping with a friend; who cares that I already have at least 6 projects in various unfinished stages!
I seem to be on a movie-going kick lately! Last weekend, I saw Triple 9 & The Boy & this past weekend, I saw The Other Side of the Door and London Has Fallen. They were all good! Last Wed., I spent the day in Santa Monica & went to my favorite FM (farmer's market) & got my pesto sauces again, veggies for salads, & some dried fruit. Then, had a nice lunch at Burger Lounge, & walked the shopping areas.
This summer I started crossfit and I found out I was really good at weight lifting. This Saturday my gym had a clinic on deadlift with a power lifting coach. I got a new PR of 325lbs! It was amazing. I'm still kind of on a high from it. When I got home I took a long nap. then watched "Captain Phillips" and drank my home brewed beer.
Well it is a nice sunny morning here in the UK. With luck I can get out in the garden in a while and tidy it a bit while it is dry. Then we need to get out to the local shops to try and find a suitable birthday present for my brother. Later England are taking on Wales in the 6 nations rugby tournament. This is always a grudge game and so I have a box of ale and a curry ready to enhance the experience. Hopefully England will continue their winning streak. Mrs B is having a spring clean but I will insist the hoover is put away before the game starts!
First day of our March Break! My sister and I are going to visit my mom (about 5 hours away) for a couple of days. She's had some health struggles lately and needs some help with some things around the house. It's supposed to be a beautiful day--record-setting highs!
It finally looks and feels like spring today! I'm going to run some errands and then I'm going to go for an actual run! I moved over the winter and live near some beautiful parks now. The weather is finally warm enough to enjoy them!!
Yay, England win although Wales run them close at the end. Now it all goes down to the next weekend and England must beat France to take the championship.
After a day of errands and shopping, dh and I had picnic dinner on our veranda. Lovely spring evening!
Not very glamorous, but it was a great day to hang out the laundry! I love the smell of fresh clothing.
