There's a huge forest fire in our region. The smoke from that coupled with the 100+ degree weather we've been having for the last few days makes the outdoors really unappealing right now. I plan to stay inside all day. Movies, books, and probably some work.
A day in the classroom (wife works all weekend) today, but then we'll do something together afterwards (dinner/walk), and then it's a lovely evening/morning with Sounders and Seahawks (no cable, so I'll be listening to it on the radio...but excited nonetheless!)
I got caught in a downpour while leaving the grocery store. Got soaking wet but treated myself to a caramel apple spice Starbucks beverage afterwards
Today, did some errands, went to Michael's & Joanne's Fabrics, grabbed some food on the way home. Like TeacherNY, I got caught in a downour too one day this week. When I left the house, it was clear & sunny. During the hour I was gone, it was raining cats & dogs, which is definitely not what happens in my area. I didn't get that wet at all though.
I could've written this paragraph myself. The smoke is traveling all the way to my area! We even cancelled recess yesterday due to the air quality.
Community wide garage sale today. Made $145.00 even though we had to close down 2 1/2 hours early due to rain.
I switched out my spring/summer and fall/winter clothes, purses, shoes, and jewelry. A lot my stuff is okay for year round, but the definitely seasonal stuff got switched. I'm also switching around electronics. I finished updating my new laptop to Windows 10, and I put my backed up files from my old computer on it. I'm also working on setting up my new phone, a Note 4. I'm taking my old iPhone and using it as an iPod, and I'm taking my old iPod Touch and wiping it to set it up for my mom to use.
Sat - Worked several hrs & relaxed. Sun - It's rained & is nice & cool...the weather I've longed for! WOrking several hrs again & relaxing.
Mani Bday shopping with dh:wub: Lunch with my mom College football Bday dinner with my family Went out this morning for breakfast crepes
My BF and I went out to breakfast with one of my friends yesterday. He and I have been dating off and on since last spring, and I'm starting to introduce him to my friends. After we ate, he went home and I went shopping with my friend.
Looks beautiful out. Breakfast in bed....then headed outside to do some yard work with DH, followed by typical Saturday errands: dry cleaner, bank, groceries. College football on tv this afternoon. And dinner with sisters/husbands this evening.
It's a glorious day! It's Thanksgiving weekend and we are having our Thanksgiving dinner today. My sister and brother-in-law will be here in a couple of hours and my son's girlfriend will be here any time. I've been cooking and cleaning all morning; I'm just taking a 20 minute break to have a little something to eat before I get the turkey in the oven.
Planning on some yard work, and then heading to a farm a few miles away which has acres of sunflowers free for the cutting. I will take some to school for my students to experience and use for some research and writing. I love bringing things in to get them going; last week it was a frog and a toad which I caught in our yard.
I spent most of the day sulking. It was supposed to be 62, but it was much warmer. I roasted and sunburned at the marching band competition. I left early and rushed home because my BF was supposed to come over. Never heard from him. It was too late to do anything else, so I broke my own "no school at home" rule and did school work for almost 8 hours. My entire week was a mess, so I'm not surprised my Saturday was, too. I want a redo on my week off.
It's Canadian Thanksgiving and we are enjoying a very warm fall! So I've spent the weekend taking care of fall yard work and errands. This evening I enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal with my family. Tomorrow we are doing Thanksgiving: Round 2.
My BF texted on Tuesday after not hearing from him for five days. Gave me some line about having a nutty weekend. We made plans for Friday and Saturday. I was texting with him until after 4:00 on Friday. At 5:00 I sent a text asking what time he would be over. Nothing. That's the third time he's done that to me, so he's out. I don't know who he thinks he is that he believes himself above the use of common manners, but I was married to an inconsiderate jerk once. I sure as heck don't plan to date one.
Ima, woah, didn't hear from him for 5 days?!...well, 2-3 days would have been just as bad if it's unexpected & he's "supposed" to be your BF! Yeah, I'd shut this down before investing any more time in him. As I'm thinking about the guys I've dated (which aren't many), I can't think of one time that we didn't talk daily. The only time I can think of that I didn't talk to a BF regularly was my ex-BF when he was at military boot camp in another state for a few months.
I'm so mentally exhausted these days!!! The last 30 days for me have been hectic & stressful. I was going to do some work tonight, but cancelled that. I'm going to stay up late & watch TV! The BF just left to spend the night w/ his 2 bros at one of their houses...he'll be back tomorrow probably early evening. Sat Go to the gym...haven't been in a while! Exchange something at OfficeMax Swing by the bank & bookstore Some grocery shopping, which I enjoy Then, I have to be back home by 11am to do some work on/off all day/night Sun Morning walk (Anything else I didn't get done yesterday morning) Need to be back home by 10am to do some work on/off till night
Running a 5K with my two favorite running buddies. One of them is sick, so it'll be a challenge getting her across the finish line, especially with a major incline in the middle of the course.
Sorry, Ima. I am glad you know where to draw the line. I have watched too many women be treated as doormats; I am glad you aren't one of them. We are having a big family spaghetti dinner today. My mother-in-law didn't cook much, but this was her specialty. Now that she is gone, my husband and I are trying to keep up the tradition by doing this once a year at a non-holiday time. We are expecting about 15 people and lots of yummy food!
Well, I got everything done I wanted to for Sat morning, except the gym. I found out 2 days ago that the remaining Fresh & Easy grocery stores are closing, so I went to my closest location that's left. Items are up to 30% off & I got about $20 off my food. Nice Missy!
Spent the day taking my daughter to the petting zoo for the first time! She got a real kick out of touching and feeding the goats
Dh and I are in Annapolis MD for weekend USNA homecoming. Seeing lots of his classmates, tailgating, football and soccer games.
I have the flu. I came home Friday with a 104 fever. Except for two hours at the doctor yesterday, I slept from 4:00 Friday until 11:30 Sunday morning. I don't even remember most of yesterday. I managed to eat a bowl of cereal, write two days of sub plans, and shower earlier today. I'm back in bed now. This is my first case of the flu. I hope it's my last.
Friday I went out for dinner with some friends. Yesterday was a beautiful fall day so I raked my leaves and then met up with a friend for coffee. Today I've been puttering around the house doing some baking and cleaning.
Sat Ran errands - p/u printer ink refills, Target, went w/ BF to get haircut Alternating work & relaxing all day/night Sun Maybe browse Barnes & Noble Maybe the movies - I have a pair of free tickets! OR maybe something different & spontaneous!
Hair appointment Deep cleaned first floor of my house, two loads of laundry, gave out candy to trick or treaters, coffee with mom and dad. Dh is in bed with virus. Which means my personal chef is down for the count. Have to muddle thru dinner on my own. I'm that spoiled.
I went to a costume party fundraiser last night. It was my first time out of the house (except for two doctor visits) in an entire week. We had a great time as Batman and The Joker. It did wear me out, though. I've napped all day.
