Made stuffing and a pie this afternoon. I'm going to make a pumpkin bread next and call it a night.

    Who's doing prep tonight?

    I'm finished!

I've made rolls, pumpkin pie, fruit cocktail, and Chex mix today.

The Chex mix is for my mom's homemakers group meeting on Monday, but I made it today so I could take it to her tomorrow.

I spent half my day cleaning and half cooking. I'd really like to enjoy the day tomorrow instead of spending the whole day in the kitchen.

    Done:
    - mini pumpkin pies
    - mini coconut cream pies
    - chocolate cupcakes
    - stuffing
    - shrimp for cocktail cooked and on ice
    - potatoes peeled and in cold water
    - green beans partially steamed, wrapped in bacon; garlic butter sauce made
    - mini breakfast stratas in the oven

I'll be up at 5 to get the turkey stuffed and in the oven on time... I'm ready to relax on the couch for a bit!

I'm a bit psychotic about over preparing, but I hate doing much cooking ahead of time.

The girls are making a cake (though I would much rather have the kitchen to myself so I can find all my stuff.)

Other than that, I'll get started in the morning.

We're going out for dinner but we are having people over later in the evening for dessert. I just put a pumpkin pie in the oven. That's about all I have to cook for tomorrow! I was thinking of making some homemade raisin bread for breakfast but it will depend on what time I get up.

I made the cranberry sauce and a batch of apple cookies. I prepped the sausage and cornbread for stuffing. And I blanched the green beans.

I cleaned most of the house. My GS baked 2 pumpkin pies, and baked a crust for the peanut butter pie.

I will say that while I was in school yesterday, my kids folded 5 loads of laundry and cleaned both bathrooms :) So today I can just concentrate on cooking.

The girls also made cupcakes last night.

The turkey is in the oven!

Does anyone else eat early? We always have Thanksgiving dinner around 1pm. I feel like that's really early.

I'll put mine in at about 9. It will come out 6 hours later (18 pounder, I think I went overboard. There are only 12 of us.)

So we'll eat at about 3:30.

 Alice - we have an 18lb one.

    For 5.

But everyone leaves with leftovers. And then tomorrow... all of the dark meat gets turned into mini pot pies so we can have Thanksgiving throughout the year :)

Cinnamon buns are done (for breakfast.)

Sausage is done for the stuffing.

Potatoes are peeled and cooking. Sweets come when the pots are empty.

Off to cut some celery and onions for the stuffing.

We won't eat until 6 at my niece's house since her husband has to work all day. I just finished making an obscene amount of sweet potato casserole. I will cook a turkey breast tomorrow at home for my grown children.

Company is due in 10 minutes. The only thing left to do is open the bottle of wine. :)

I made everything this morning. Just 3 of us this Thanksgiving so 8 lb turkey was enough, plus mashed potatoes, yams, and cranberry sauce early this morning. Put the rolls in while the turkey cooled down a bit. I made some pumpkin bread earlier this week and we had that for dessert.

No prep for me. To my surprise, my mom made some stuffing, macaroni salad, & cooked the turkey, so she had me pick some of it up, otherwise, I would have made some stuffing. Thanks Mom!!! :D I made some deviled eggs, my BF made the mashed potatoes, & I got the black olives & cranberry sauce ready, so I'm set to eat in about 20 minutes! The lemon cream cheesecake & banana cream pies are here too!

    Enjoy your dinners all!

Alice, we had a 12 pound turkey for 4 of us. I got 2 free turkeys from Fred Meyer--and they are both 18 pounds. I guess I will have to have some company when I cook those.

My GS cooked dinner--yes the one with ADHD. He cooked the turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, gravy, rolls, pumpkin pie. It was wonderful.

I did that bacon wrapped turkey that had been on facebook. I didn't basket weave mine but man was it yummy!!! I also made chicken dumplins and we bought the potato salad. Mom made the dressing, mashed potato, green beans, cream corn, mac n cheese (I think it was Country Crock's or something like that...bleh!), rolls, cranberry sauce (canned). My aunt made a delish dessert... Lemon Lush? Barely had room for it!!!
