I feel like it's winding down for me. We go back Monday and I have appointments/commitments the next few days so I know it will go by fast. Beyond the obvious spending more time with your family, etc. (although I think my dog is ready to get rid of me in lieu of being able to sleep more throughout the day and get back on a regular schedule). What I will miss: I realized this morning I was taking really long showers-(not good for the environment I know)-but I'm usually rushing so much in the morning. I also love spending the day in socks! Not sure that would go over too well at school with our dress code. I also sleep in a little later (and take naps) so I can stay up later. I feel like such an old lady coming home from work exhausted and falling asleep watching tv at 8:00.
I love having a good breakfast at home, I never have time to do that when I have to go to school. I will also miss NOT commuting ha!
Snuggling in the morning with dh...he's working home this week Good breakfasts Morning workouts Time with my sons and my parents Unscheduled time! During the work week, I'm out of the house many days for 12 hours..
Definitely sleeping in! Oh, and not having to schedule a walk/jog/hike with Harleigh. I like to just decide what time I want to go, but when I have school I have to either go before I leave (super early) or go when I get back (verge of being dark).
You go back on Mon already?! I don't go back until Tues, Jan 10th. I don't want to talk about what I'll miss because I pretty much just started my vacation, but I'll miss the freedom of doing what I feel like doing!
We jump right back in with the kids on Monday. I am NOT looking forward to it! We do go a week though and then get off Thur/Fri of that next week. What I'll miss is: ~spending time with my hubby (he goes back south Mon) ~working out whenever I want ~sleeping in ~not having to schedule anything ~spending all day in my PJs ~longer showers ~actually sitting down to eat breakfast
I just started my vacation, too. I go back the 9th. I will miss staying up late and sleeping in the most. Trying to get enough sleep during the work week stresses me out, so it's nice to not have to worry about waking up at six.
Getting things done on my schedule. For example, I can go to the grocery store in the middle of the day on a Monday. And, of course, sleeping in. I'm going to go take a nap in a few minutes....
I will miss playing with my kids, having people over in the middle of the week, and not rushing to do things in the evenng after my kids go to bed (because I can do the dishes in the morning).
Next year we have a later break, I kind of wish we had done it that way this year because this way we have one week back and then the next week is report card testing so it is a lot of reviewing and catching up all at once. It was so nice when the semester ended at Christmas break!
Sleeping in, of course. I've been sleeping a minimum of ten hours a night! Ahhhh.... We've actually been quite productive this break...an incredible amount of deep cleaning and organization. Fact: besides what we are wearing, there is not a single dirty laundry item in the entire house. Not a rag in the kitchen, not a sock...it's all clean and put away!
Yes, I know people either have the last 2 wks of Dec off OR the last wk of Dec & 1st wk of Jan off. I'm glad I still have a ways to go till I'm back.
Sleeping in Working out earlier Being lazy-watching tv and reading lots of books Spending a lot of time with one of my new friends here
I still have a little over a week! (And those those two days are just teachers, so almost 2 weeks before kids are back!)
I will miss - * unscheduled time * eating meals when I am hungry * catching up with friends * free evenings * baking I do miss my students already! I have been out since the 22nd, so I am on holidays for another week and a half. I relish this time to slow down and relax.
I'm so jealous! That was totally on my to-do list for this break, but didn't get to it. Good for you for actually getting it done. :thumb:
I feel like a negative Nelly, but I will miss not having to go to work. I have really just had it with this job.
Sleeping in, taking naps, and not having to walk around with my cell phone attached to me in case someone calls for a sub job.
I will add some more upbeat responses - the end of Christmas season means seeing my family less. I have been home the past three weekends for family functions but I can't do that on a regular basis. I probably won't be home again until the end of Jan or beginning of FEb. Also, I gave myself a week off from my diet. Back to school means back on the old diet.
I don't think that's negative Silver--I think if most of us had a choice we'd extend vacation over going to work! I am glad I've had time to destress a little bit. This year has been really stressful on me already too.
Definitely sleeping in! I will also miss enjoying my morning cup of coffee, reading during the middle of the day just because I can, and staying up later than 10:00!
I don't know why I said sleeping in. I do like being able to stay up and get up when I want but truthfully the lack of routine throws me off and I actually get LESS sleep. It always happens. I don't know why I expect otherwise.
Staying up late, sleeping late, the relaxed not running around pace, breakfast with my daughter, napping on the couch with the Pug!
