I already changed my avatar to some refreshing lemonade, so I'm ready for summer! I have 7 work days left.

That day for me will land on a Friday. So far, I'm planning to spend the day in L.A., which I love to do every so many months.

My BF wants to go to the zoo, so we'll go.
Definitely a mall, maybe two, including the Hollywood & Highland Center
    Grand Cental Market
Probably a hobby shop...the BF likes them.
Have a nice lunch somewhere. I'd love to get my childhood favorite pizza: Numero Uno

I'd go to the museum if there were any exhibits that were interesting to me.

Later the following week is a Home & Backyard Show!

My two best friends from my hometown are coming out to stay with me for a week the day after school gets out. I live in a rather touristy area, so I'm sure we'll be busy! One of them has never been to CO before so she's especially excited to see everything.

I have 30 days left...I love my students and will be sad to see them go...first day of vaca? No clue...I do what I want on my weekends during the school year...NYC, running, dinners, day trips, get away weekends...summer is just better weather for all that.

    Sleep! Then sleep some more!

But really... I end with students on a Wednesday. We have a work day Thursday. Graduation is on Saturday. I start a nanny job the Wednesday after that so I'll probably just hang out at home.

Last student day is the Friday before Memorial Day. I'm not sure yet what we'll do that weekend. I will hopefully sleep in, though! We have meetings the following T and W, so on my first day of actual summer vacation I'll be finishing up in my classroom and packing to go on vacation (fishing trip in Canada with Bf and my family...I can't wait!), since we leave the next day.

If I have a job lined up (doubtful), I will work on packing. If I don't have a job lined up, I plan on packing my clothes and heading up to my parents' and staying until I get a job.

Our first day off is a Friday. If it is nice I will go for a long walk with my friend, and then do yard work. If it is crummy out, I will read A LOT and start working on a new quilt. The massive house cleaning and organizing will not commence until the following week.

I'll be home alone. My hubby is going to visit friends for Memorial Day, so I'll relax with the pets, and maybe start packing for my summer job. The second day of summer I have a dentist appointment. After that, it's shopping, packing, and preparing the house to be gone for almost a month. I don't really have anything big planned.

I have 6 weeks left of school! Then 2 weeks off before summer school. The first week I will probably just relax and hang out at home, maybe play "tourist" in my town. So many things to see, places to take walks, etc.

    I'm having surgery :help:

4 more weeks. At least it'll give me a reason to go into slug mode without guilt.

It's still a month and a half away, so I am still focused on keeping my kids engaged and furthering their skills. This is the magical part of grade 1 - they finally 'get it'. They have grown up, can read and write and now we can really have some fun!

I'm looking for work too. I hope we can both get something ASAP, so we can breathe a sigh of relief & enjoy the rest of our summer.

I only get 2 weeks off and I have many appointments and jobs around the house I have planned to get taken care of. Not much down time will there be. Though I do plan on spending what down time I have in the pool.

I'm going out of town for the first two weeks of town to get our other house ready to sell. Now that our daughter has graduated she doesn't have to live there...time to let it go.
The rest of the summer we will visit the theme parks...that is our favorite family activity and one of the reasons that we bought a house 10 minutes from Disney World when we moved back home.

My last day of finals is on Wednesday and the week after that on Friday is my commencement. After that, I'm going to relax and work for the three weeks I have off before I start my MAT program (I'm so excited!).

My school is over on June 3rd! And those 3 days on the last week minimum days. And Mem. Day weekend is a 4 day weekend, so we don't have a lot left :)

I'm hoping I can teach summer school, which would start on June 10. If not, I'm hoping I can maybe sub at the juvenile hall here - that would be the easiest job in the enitre world: small classes, a guard is in the room, if a student looks sideways at the wrong time, he's in trouble (juvie was nothing like that where I used to be). No planning etc. The other great thing is that I'd be getting my teacher daily rate, which means working 4 days will pay my rent for August :) (not getting a paycheck at the end of July).
At this point I'm almost prefering to sub over teaching summer school.

So what I'll be doing right after school is out depends on what I'll be doing the upcoming weeks. I'll be either relaxing and doing nothing, or I'll be actively relaxing, gardening, going to the waterpark, maybe down to San Diego again, etc.

I'll probably start with doing some house cleaning, then move on to bigger stuff. I have 2 days of curriculum work in May, 6 professional days in June, and 4 days in July right before school start. I don't really have too many free days. I will do some short vacations.

School is out Friday. I go Saturday. We go back in July with kids first week of August.

We've still got a little under a month. Looks like I am going to be working for my summer though --- booo!! I am taking a few days off in between and going back to my hometown for a long weekend! Looking forward to that. I'm used to not having summer's off anyway -- haven't had one since I was in high school. Maybe next summer I can truly have a break.

I wish NC would go back to the old summer break (late May-early August) instead of (mid-June to late August). Our kids in my district are out June 7th, followed by 2 teacher workdays--so my first day of summer is June 12th.

I have a few things I need to do like deep clean my house (carpet cleaning, wall scrubbing sort of stuff). Once that's out of the way I will be spending days by my pool, at the beach, and taking mid-day naps! Cannot wait!

Of course, I get extra time because I'm preggo and my baby is due one week before school starts back up again--so I will be out at least until the last week of September! So mid-day naps and sitting by the pool will continue until summer officially ends :)

I'm a 12 month employee so I dont really have a summer, but I am going to Vegas in July. Yippee! I have three days off next week and I plan on just relaxing, hanging out by the pool, and reading.

School's out for summer! That’s really great time to be spend for personal relaxation and fun with sharpening the skills which is lagging back. So, starting the summer vacation should be planned with the relaxation on the first vary day then moving to fun either by planning for holidays at beach area or to relatives house and then switch to improving the skills that can aid up in study.

my first 10 days after school ends I always take my daughters to the beach with NO TECHNOLOGY, no cell phones, no internet, not even an answering machine. We have a 100 year old rotary phone on the wall, that is it. We decompress by reading, swimming - playing games, or riding bikes together <3

I'm going to get ready to move into our new apartment by doing a lot of packing. A lot of my friends have some time off as well, so we're going to spend time together. (maybe have lunch, go to the beach, etc.)

Not much. We may have to take a few of the last work days of school off to drive 13 hours away for a specialist appointment. I'm not sure if we've decided it's worth it or not. After we get back I may have to do some catch up work, but then I hope to do nothing for a good week or so.
