Being a car guy...I've always noticed what types of cars are in the local school parking lot. I drive a cute little 2004 toyota matrix.... I drive it because its functional, its paid for and its somewhat stylish. I think civics and corollas are the most popular teacher cars.... but i just wanted to take a little survey..

I was wondering... what car do you drive? And why have you chosen to drive that car?

1999 civic, manual transmission. I adore my car. It's gotten me through South Florida summers and North Dakota winters. I've driven through the heaviest rain you can imagine, gotten home in the middle of a raging blizzard. It started right up even when it was negative 40 outside (I have no engine heater of any kind), and got me across the country without a single complaint. I really need to replace it, but I can't bear to part with it. Every time I think about replacing it, I just can't do it, so here I am with a 13 year old car that I will replace when I have to bury it.

Cadillac Escalade (my wife's), Jeep Rubicon (mine), and a Dodge Ram (my favorite but I share with my wife)...

All our "cars" must have exceptional off road capibilities........:p:p

    Happy trails..............:):):)

2011 Kia Sportage - It was a graduation present from my parents (payment not included LOL) and I do love it. It is big enough for me to be able to actually haul stuff if I need to but it is still small enough that it is great on gas mileage.

I drive a 2008 Ford F-150 extended cab short bed 4-wheel drive pick-up. My dad had a 1997 F-150 that he had totaled, and he replaced it with the 2008. He was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer a couple of weeks later. He had it for 5 months. He told me he wanted me to have it. I never thought of myself as a pickup truck girl, but I love it . . . and who passes up a brand new, paid off truck? Plus, I was always a daddy's girl, so I like having his truck. I had a Monte Carlo and an Oldsmobile before the truck. My commute is four miles each way, so gas mileage isn't a huge issue. DH has a 2011 Escape, and it gets much better mileage.

2006 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4...DH and I both have 4X4. I need better gas mileage, but last year we had a rare case of freezing snow and I live out in the country. My Pathfinder got me and the kiddos home after I ran off the road, I put her in 4 wheel and pulled me and kids right on out. I may have only needed it a few times, but I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it!

2007 Chrysler Town & Country...bought it after my second Kia Rio was totalled in yet another accident. I really really really want another Kia Rio, but I don't want a used one and they just changed the body style for 2012- I don't really like the new style. My second choice would be a Ford Focus or something similar. I like smaller cars. I got the van for hauling kids & groceries, and for our road trips. It's a HUGE gas guzzler, though, and I really miss my Rio. Wish I could find a 2011 that hasn't been sold yet!!!!!

2003 Dodge Neon-it was the car I always said I was going to get and I found one for sale from someone my family knows and it was a good price, so it became mine just over 2 years ago. I will be driving it for quite a while yet since it doesn't even have 92,000 miles on it yet.

2000 Honda CR-V - love it. Had to buy it when I totaled my 2001 GMC Sonoma (I had just paid it off too). It has 270,000 miles on it and runs like a dream. I miss my truck, but I love my Honda

1998 Honda Civic. 179,000 miles. It is way past due for major maintenance (new timing belt, etc) but it has been good to me.

Never thought I would want to upgrade, but after renting a new Chevy Impala, I think might consider a Honda Accord.

However, I will probably never buy new again (the Civic was the only new car I've ever purchased). I've been listening to Dave Ramsey. :)

I've got a Peugot 206 diesel. I have to say that as expensive as gas is in the US, it's still worse in Europe. This one gets good mileage and is small so easy to park.

    I drive a Ford 500, 2007
hubby has a 2009 Mercury Mariner
    daughter drive a 1995 Sable.

I love my Sable, but when she was in high school she needed a car. I didn't want her walking home in the dark after play practice & I wasn't off work to be able to pick her up. So, she got the Sable & I got a Ford 500. Now, my daughter loves her Sable!

(Choking back the tears here) A Pontiac G-5. I always got around 200K miles out of my Pontiacs. Now, they are (sob) no more.

When this one goes, I'm afraid I will be a lost soul. Wandering aimlessly and questioning my sanity.

Junky 2000 Dodge Ram. Needs replacing ASAP - I've told hubby that I won't drive it another summer - no a/c in 110 heat is NOT fun!

I think I have my heart set on a toyota tacoma - with 4 doors so that I have a good backseat whenever I have kids. Never thought I'd buy new, but it seems that they hold their value too well, and there just isn't enough of a price difference between brand new 2011's and used ones that are a couple years old.
We drive our trucks till they die, so I'm sure I'll have it until I have too many kids to fit!
