What time do you get to school, and what time do the students arrive? In addition, what time do the students leave, and what time do you leave?

Personally, I arrive at school around 6:30a.m. This gives me lots of quiet time with no one else needing the copier, and time to "get my head" ready for the kiddos, who arrive in my room at 7:50.

My kiddos leave me between 2:45 and 3:00. I used to stay really late (till 6:30 some nights), but last year, I began leaving no later than 4:30, and I plan to continue that trend this year. I'm a bit OCD, so I like my classroom "just so" before I leave, lol.

During my student teaching I would arrive at 7:40 (mainly because my cooperating teacher didn't show up until that time or later to let me in the room). The kids get there at 7:55, though some arrive earlier they are not allowed in the room.

    Now...

    Arrive: 7:20 - 7:30
    Kids allowed in room: 8:00
    Kids Dismissed: 3:35
Teachers allowed to leave after: 4:30

We are required to stay at the school an hour after the kids leave, unless there is an errand or something important going on. Most leave around 4:00, so that isn't a strict rule or anything lol

I arrive between 7:15 and 7:30, when I have a morning duty usually by 7:15.

We can leave at 3:15 but as this was my first year most days I didn't leave until well after 4. At the beginning of the year I was in the building until 8 many nights.

Our contracted hours are from 7:30-3:30.
    Kids are there from 7:50-2:50.

It really depends on what I have to get done. I'm not a morning person at all. If I try to go in early, I'm so groggy/out of it that I found myself sitting at my desk and realizing I'd just been sitting there for the past 5 minutes! So in the morning I get there at the last minute I have to at 7:30. In the afternoon, two days a week I stayed and worked at an afterschool program until 5, and then left by 5:30. Another day we had required pd until 4:30, and I usually left by 5. One day a week that I didn't have anything (except for a staff meeting maybe once a month or every 6 weeks) I'd usually only stay till 4 and have that be my day to run errands and get to places like the bank or post office that closed early. On Fridays, we usually all went out to happy hour. We'd stay 30-60 minutes to get things ready for the next week and then head over. If it was a really bad week for some reason, we might head over right away, haha.

Most of the time, I prefer to do my extra work at home on my couch in my sweats in front of the tv. I had to do things like organizing and such at school, but I usually worked on things like answering e-mails or doing IEP paperwork or lesson plans at home since all I needed was my laptop. For some reason most of the shows I kept up with either aired at 7 pm or 9 pm, so 8-9 was generally reserved for me to do schoolwork.

Not a morning person at all...so I try to be at my desk at least 1/2 hour before students arrive, to "get my head right" for the day. Usually end up staying 45 minutes after the students leave. There are exceptions, of course.

I try to be there by 6:30 for some quiet time and some class set-up. The kids are allowed into the room at 7:08. The kids leave at 1:25, and we can leave at 1:30, although usually the soonest I leave would be 1:40 ... even if I wanted to leave any earlier I couldn't, because the traffic as the parents are picking up their kids makes it impossible to leave sooner.

Our contractual time is 7:45 - 3:15, and I see teachers clocking in at 7:45 on the dot every morning and leaving the parking lot with squealing wheels at 3:05 almost daily. I don't know how they do it!

school hours are 8:00 - 3:00. I anticipate getting there by 7:00 at the latest, and leaving by 4:00 or 4:30.

If my kids were not going to be coming with me, I'd get there by about 6:30 or so, and leave asap after school was over. As it is, we'll be leaving the house by 6:30 every morning.

We do not have contracted/designated hours. We are encouraged to be there 1/2 hour before begins and 1/2 hour after school ends. We should be there at 7:50am, students enter 8:10, school begins at 8:20, and school ends @ 2:50.

Typically, I get to school just before that 7:50 time frame and leave between 3:45-4:00. Pre-children, I was a at school no later than 7:30 and left about 4:30.

Our contract hours are 7:30-3:30. But since this is my first year I expect I will be there until at least 4-4:30... I am counting on my husband to keep me accountable and make me leave at a decent hour if I get caught up! haha :)

Our contract says 6.45 hours. I actually do not know when we are required to be at my school and I have worked there for 6 years and am the union rep there, so I guess I can not complain about the requirements being over the top... The kids arrive at 8:40 and leave at 3:00. We also have an extra 15 minutes in our lunch hour that can be used for prep. So calculating that I would guess we have to be there at 8:15 and can leave at 3:00 or we can get there at 8:30 and can leave at 3:15. Since we are required to have a certain amount of time for prep each day when the children are not there. We usually can stay into the late afternoon if we wish and people get there as early as 6:00 in the morning.

Student hours(there is before school care from 7 to 7:30)
    Arrival 7 to 7:35
    Dismissed at 3:15

I usually am there at 6:45 and leave by 4:30, except for staff meeting days. Then I leave at 4:15, or as soon as the meeting is over. I like to clean and set up my room in the afternoon. In the morning, I'm getting set for the day checking papers, or doing morning duty. I don't have to take a lot home.

I get to school around 7:45. I have students at 8:20.
School is over at 3:35. The earliest I leave is 4:00 on a non-drama club day, and 5:00 on a drama day. The latest I leave on a drama day is 9:00. Usually it;s closer to 5:30.

I have not begun teaching at my school yet, but the hours we are encouraged to be there (at least, according to the job posting website) are 8:30-4:30. We start a bit later in the day than traditional hours, with first period beginning around 9:15 and last period ending around 4:15. I plan to get to school by 7:45 or 8:00 just to have those extra few quiet moments and have a nice, relaxing start to my morning. That way I don't end up staying too late at the end of the day. One thing I've really got to work on is not putting in TOO many hours and overwhelming myself as a first year teacher. (I tend to do that in general!) I want to be the best teacher I can be, and to do that, I need to have a balanced life and actually get some sleep!

My sitter gets to my house at about 7, and I'm out the door a minute or two later. I try to sign in by about 7:30. (though if I'm driving Brian to middle school, it's closer to 7:40)

Homerooms have to be opened by 7:50.
The warning bell rings at 8:05.

The dismissal bell rings at 2:48. We're required to be available for extra help until at least 3:15. I teach math; there's always extra help, whether it's my own students or someone else's.

I usually wrap up extra help by around 3:40, and aim to pick up the kids at around 4.

For you early to school teachers...what time do you get up/go to bed?
I have to be at school at 8. I get up at 7 (workout and shower at night) and leave house by 7:40. I'm in bed around 10:30/11.
Don't mean to hijack.(maybe I'll start a new thread)..I'd just have a hard time with really early arrivals, but I guess you get used to it....

I usually arrive at 7:15 or 7:30. As association president I have a lot of meetings that don't start until 4:00. If I don't have a meeting I try to leave by 4:00.

A few times a year I will request to leave when the kids do (2:45), to go to an appointment.

Right now I'm preparing for my school schedule, so I'll go ahead and answer even though I'm new to this. I go to bed around 9-9:15 and wake up at 5:30. I'm hoping to start waking up at 5, though, so that I can work out in the morning, then have time to shower and do any planning/grading before school. I want to have my evenings free to relax and hang out with my family (aka my significant other and our dog, who is like our child) after I get home from teaching. I feel so lucky that my S.O. has to be at work at 6:30 AM, so we are going to bed at the same time.

I get up between 5-5:15 in the mornings. As for bedtime... well, lol, I try to be in bed by 10-10:30, but I'm a borderline insomniac, so that often goes out the window. Sometimes I manage a quick nap after I get home & before my hubby gets here.

I forgot to mention that my daughter is grown, so I have no little ones to worry about at home or regarding before/after school care. Just my dear (understanding) hubby, the dog, the cat, & me!
