What do you think EVERY woman should have in her wardrobe?

I think these for sure are a MUST:

    - black pants
    - black skirt
    - jeans
    - denim jacket
    - black shoes
    - black handbag
    - white shirt
    - sneakers

I agree with only the jeans and tennis shoes, and I guess I would add a good bra. :)

The best bra. I went to a small boutique that specializes in bra fittings. When I walked out with my new bra on I looked great. It was expensive but worth every penny. Even my 86 year old dad asked if I had lost weight.

I don't wear jeans often--but I have a really cute pair in my closet. I agree--a good bra fit is worth the price.

Probably not, if he's being kept in the closet!

    I would add a suit.

And I have no use for a denim jacket.

Plain white button down crisp shirt (sleeve length determined by location)

Camisole that keeps things covered when they need to be covered to wear under stuff

Undergarments that leave no panty lines

    flattering jeans

At least one flattering suit in a neutral color

A great piece of jewelry she bought for herself

    A little black dress

A little black dress is an evening or cocktail dress, cut simply and often with a short skirt, originally made popular in the 1920s by the fashion designer Coco Chanel.

    and a Black Negligee underneath

    COMFORTABLE underwear.

The idea of wearing an uncomfortable underwire bra and a thong???? PLEEEASE!

Give me a supportive bra and a new pair of (white cotton briefs) underwear...and I am happier than ______ (use your favorite analogy).

Nina Garcia has one honkin' huge closet.
    ***

I have to laugh. I am SO NOT a clothes horse.

I have a master bedroom with a very small walk-in closet. Yet... to help MYSELF (and as a show of what is MORE important to me), I only use half of it for clothes...and the other half? I have a mini office.. book shelves, a cork board, a small desk, file cabinet, computer, scanner and printer. My hanging shoe sorter to my right has four pairs of shoes (one of which...hmmm...is my daughter's. I have a pair of flip-flops and gym shoes down stairs by the door) But the other half is filled with things I use for my office, digital camera, cords, a portible cassette recorder (that has a tape in it of my cooperating teacher discussing his classroom management and history in teaching -I treasure that tape!), etc.

I'll have to check tomorrow, but I'm pretty certain my jeans are not three fingers below my belly button, and I do NOT wear mom jeans. I don't want them directly below my chest, but I don't want them cutting directly across my w i d e hips either. :)

*My jeans are ABOVE my belly button... but far below my... chest (mom jeans? I dont' care if that's what you call them. I'm a mom. They aren't Steve Urkle jeans. That's all that matters. But hip huggers? no thank you. I continually pull at those..and everything falls out of my pockets.).
    *My underwear is comfortable.
*My fashion budget is in line.
    *And I"M happy!

My new must-have are three tank tops I got at Anthropologie-they are a stretchy material with one side a v-neck and one side a u-neck so you can reverse them. I got them in black, white and teal. They go under EVERYTHING. I love layering, so they go under light sweaters, wrap tops, other tanks, button up shirts, etc.

    Look here

I have five ball gowns and (only) three cocktail dresses, but not everyone needs either one.

I actually like jeans and tennis shoes for my non-working wardrobe the best (but not the super low cut ones- they have to pass the bend over test).

We all have different "must haves" don't we? I currently own one pair of sneakers. I have been toying with the idea of getting new ones. I bought them right after my daughter was born and she is in 5th grade this year.
My "must haves" include several pairs of flannel and fleece lined jeans for those long, cold winters, soft fleece jammie pants for after bath, large soft t for sleeping, classic neutral slacks - I have like 12 pairs in blacks and greys that I wear all winter. My newest discovery are heeled, zip up boots. I can dress up in the winter and wear my thick, warm socks with them! I think every woman needs a nice wool coat to wear when dressed up a bit.

    a set of pearls
    a body girdle (as needed)

    Flip Flops
    Cute, stylish open toed sandals
    SUNDRESSES!!
Cute 3/4 length cardigan for the beach at night!

Speaking of sundressess.. What is everyone's opinion on those bras with CLEAR PLASTIC straps. I think they're designed so you can't see your bra strap... but plastic is better?

My jury is still out on this!

(Goodness I love summer when this is the stuff I think about...!)

If the whole strap is out I think it is trashy. If a tiny bit peaks out then it is okay. I would buy a strapless or convertible.

YES! I have had lots of luck with a convertable bra I actually found at Marshalls about 3 years ago. It's held up really nice.

    It can be...

    Strapless!

    T-back!

    Regular!

A way that I have no name for but it scoops the straps around your neck if you're wearing a halter!
