What do you think makes a teacher a good one? I'm just curious to know.

Anthony J. Mullen, 2009 Teacher of the Year says, "passion, professionalism and perseverance."

I would add a caring attitude. I recently saw a local state politician in the grocery store. He actually said hello to me first and the first thing that popped out of my mouth was "don't forget us teachers, please!" My part of the conversation covered the passion, professionalism, and perseverance, however, I ended it with "I care about the kids and feel as though I am blessed to have a job where I can care about the kids."

Patience of all sorts, sizes, and lengths. Children are not one-size-fits-all.

Caring about your students. Feeling a connection to them.
