I'm looking to increase the number of books that I have that make story time more active and encourage physical participation from the kiddos.

For example, they LOVE "Clap Your Hands" by Lorinda Cauley. With a few modifications, the whole group can participate at once in clapping, stomping, turning, etc.

We also have a very un-scary version of the fairy tale "Gunniwolf" and they love pretending to sleep, then patting their legs for the "pitty pat" parts and rolling their arms for the "hunker-cha" parts! (I know that one won't make sense if you don't know the story, but it is a very repetitive text, so they get to do that quiet-active-quiet-active part over and over!

Can you share any other suggestions?

We're Going on a Bear Hunt

5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything

I have about 40 books based on children's songs which they like and keep them singing and active.
