I have a Teesside/Middlesbrough accent. It is a flat accent with a few rolling Rs in there.

Standard UK pronounced sentence.." I have a purple shirt".
Teesside pronounced sentence.. " Ar ave a perpal shert".

It isn't a pretty accent...but it does get the job done !

I am from Chicago and love to hear that Chicago accent in others, but since I have lived in Florida since I was 4, I have a southern accent. My husband is from Long Island and has that New York/Long Island accent, but sometimes ends his sentences with "ya'll", just to be funny and I laugh everytime.

Scottish or Irish. or Aussie. Can anyone make this into a poll so we can see it at a glance. It is an interesting question. My knees go weak at a Scottish accent . . .I think it is my heritage.

When my daughter was in high school, she dated an exchange student from Brazil. I could have listened to him speak all day. I found it to be very soft and melodic. :)
