    I'm just curious . . .

How many kids are in your room?
    What age(es)?
All typically developing or some with disabilities?
Do you have an assistant or one-on-one?
What kind of facility are you in (daycare, private preschool, public pre-k, Headstart, etc.)?

    There are:
    18 kids in my room
    15 four-year-olds and 3 three-year-olds (1 not potty trained)
2 with disabilities that I know of--autism and a rare syndrome that displays autistic traits
I will have one assistant (not hired yet--fun ) and 1-3 therapists coming in
I'm in a Headstart center that is also funded by my state's pre-k program

    I start orientation next Wednesday.

I start Wed. as well. We are a NYS funded pre-k class inside a private preschool. I have 16 four-year-olds and 1 assistant. I am not aware of any disabilities yet. I originally started with 13 children which I was so excited about, but slowly they added more and more:( We'll see how it goes next week. I am still really excited though:)

I work in a private Montessori school. I work with children ages 3-6 years old, and have myself and another teacher, and an assistant in the classroom with 24 children.

I have 8 kindergartners, 10 4 yr olds and 6 3 yr olds. One of the 3 yr olds has Apraxia of speech and some language issues and gets private speech therapy twice a week. 5 of my 3 yr olds haven't started yet....they'll start next week, and 2 of them won't be 3 until the middle of October. Fun times.

We also offer full day hours, even though we operate on a school schedule, so we fall under the auspices of daycare licensing regulations.

We started on Monday. I have 14 students in my Head Start class. There are 7 girls and 7 boys. 13 are 4 year-olds and 1 is a 3 year-old. There is one 4 year-old that is not potty trained. I have 5 of the 4's with very bad speech problems. We are full-day, there from 7:30 - 3:35 each day. I do have a fantastic assistant and a great student teacher for 2 days each week until October. It really is a great class and the smallest that I have had in 26 years!:)

I work in a private preschool. (daycare )
I have mostly 4's all who will go to kindergarten in 2009.
I have 25 kids and 1 co-teacher. I was worried at first but we get along great and she wasn't one of those that tries to come in and take over.

I work in a public prek-6 school teaching early childhood special education (program is usually 50/50 with typically developing peers and verified students but this year we're almost 100% sped). Right now we range from 3-4 in age. I have a few turning 5 in November.

    I have two groups:
    AM: 6 children, 5 verified- 1 assistant
PM: 5 children, all verified (more severe than AM)- 2 assistants

I work in a church pre-school program that began on Monday. I have 14 children-8 girls and 6 boys. Most will turn 5 after the first of next year. Our hours are 9-1, M-Thurs. and I have an assistant.

As of now, after 1 week, I know there are a few with speech problems and some with issues involving fine motor skills.

I work in a public school three year old program. We are funded by a Pre K Counts grant. I have 1 aide and 2 HS helpers that help (the High School is across the parking lot and they can volunteer at the elem. school during free periods). Next week I will have some PSU students starting in my room.

    AM 15 kids - 6 boys and 9 girls
    PM 12 kids - 2 boys, 10 girls

Today was the first day. I am exhausted!

I teach half-day preschool - I have six 3-yr-olds Tues/Thurs and eight 4-yr-olds MWF. They're incredibly small classes and I often wish that I could have 10 just to make group activities a little more interactive.

I have 36 4 year olds. Luckily, they only come in 18 at a time. State funded UPK program housed inside a K-5 building. I have an assistant....a new one, who just got hired tonight....I meet her tomorrow. Yikes!

If you want 10 for group activities, I'd be happy to send some your way. ;)

How many kids are in your room? Too many - 19 total
    What age(es)? 3 & 4 turning 5
All typically developing or some with disabilities? 16 Special Needs / 3 typical
Do you have an assistant or one-on-one? 2 paras and we are having to borrow one from another class to help out because we are up to our eyeballs in kids with lots of needs.
What kind of facility are you in (daycare, private preschool, public pre-k, Headstart, etc.)? Public school's preschool SPE/Inclusion. 2nd year being inclusion. Last year I had 1 typical. This year I have 3 but sooooooooooo overloaded with SPE it isn't even funny and more coming... ARGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!

Most come 5 days, from 7:45 til at least 2:15 and then some. A small handful only come 3 or 4 days. 15 on Monday, 17 on Tues, Wed, Thur. and ALL of them happen to come on Friday. CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!

I have a total of 16 in my class this year, but five of them will go home at lunch. It's a bigger class than I've had before in the morning, but smaller in the afternoon.:)

Wow, such a large variety of situations . . . some of which I would love and some of which would drive me crazy! I'm praying for y'all this year. We do such important work in such (at times) impossible situations.

Right now I have 14 students assigned (1 girl I haven't seen yet). I have 6 girls and 8 boys all 4 years old at the moment. They will start turning 5 starting in Sept. Last year I had 20 so I may still see 6 or 7 more kids.

I work for Public School Pre-K but we started working with Head Start this year for the first time. I have one HS assistant helping me.

So far I don't have any with disabilites that I know of, although I have a twin of an autistic child in another class and have noticed some sensory issues. I have 4 ESL students, 3 Hispanic and 1 Vietnamese (NO ENGLISH). I will see how it goes with them. So far, everyone is potty trained this year!! I just hope that as the year progresses, the gender numbers will stay a little more even than last year.(8 girls, 12 boys) I just barely recovered in time to start again...
