    Hello everyone,

Is math workshop the same as Math centers? If not than can you please explain the concept behind math workshop. Also, is it expensive or simple to have.

Is there a reading workshop? is that expensive to start?

Thank you advance for your feedback!

Math workshop is like math centers, but you can try to have the students move more at their own pace or a group pace... It is not expensive but takes time to set up and organization.

There also is a reading workshop that is not expensive to set up as long as you have a school library or classroom library.

Thank you for your advice Mopar! Do you use math workshop in your classroom? Do you think workshop is beneficial for all students or mainly for struggling learners?

I started this year and am still working out much of it.

It is very beneficial for my struggling learners, but even more beneficial for my advanced learners. I can give them more complex problems and equations to work on. Plus, it is very motivating for them.

Thanks again for the advice. Yeah, I am doing centers but its really independent and I want to move toward doing group centers and where I feel more involved instead of just watching them. Thanks again.
