If you are already back at school or gearing up to come back - what will you miss.

I miss naps. I know that sounds very lazy, but if I slept for an hour or 2 in the afternoon, I would stay up until 1 or 2 in the morning, I was able to get so much done. Now I feel very unproductive. I come home, play with the puppy, make dinner, work on lesson plans, go to bed. My laundry hasn't been done, cleaning, etc. I am so tired after the 1st week.

I miss my naps. What do you miss?

Spending time with my kids and husband.

NOT worrying about school lunches and snacks and finding the kids socks. (I HATE socks!!!!)

I'll miss sitting at the pool, soaking up the sun, watching Jeannie swim.
I'll miss reading just for myself.
I'll miss the free time I had while Jeannie was at camp.
    I'll miss everything!

I'll really miss spending time with my new dog. We've had time to bond this summer and get her very comfortable with her new home. Luckily, my husband will be home with her for most of the day so she won't miss me too much ... but I'll really miss her.

I'll miss not being able to take spur-of-the-moment day trips.

    I'll miss living in flip-flops.

I'll miss running errands during the week and not doing chores on weekends.

This one's the biggie for me!

And of course not being able to do what you want all day at any time! And seeing my little dog as much!

Another vote for sleeping in, even though most days I still got up at 6 to feed the cats. Once in a while I'd go back to bed and sleep until 9. Ah, "Sleep that knits up the raveled sleave of care..." Shakespeare got that right!

I will miss staying in my pajamas. I am a creature of comfort and would love if I could just wear pajamas everywhere. Also, staying up late reading and watching tv and not worrying about how tired I am going to be the next day.

I will miss mental relaxation. Once the school year starts, my mind doesn't stop. I am CONSTANTLY thinking about school, lessons, the children, etc. It was so nice to get a break from that for a couple of months!

I do try very hard not to think of the beginning of the school year as the "end" of something. I look forward to using weekends to take little trips, just like my son and I did during the summer. I'm still planning on playing driveway baseball with him in the evenings, as long as the light lasts.

I go back on Tuesday and I'll miss
    * relaxing in bed for over an hour each morning playing around on the computer
    * not packing lunches and snacks for my kids
    * being able to easily go on bike rides with my kids
    * not having homework battles with my kids, especially my son who can sometimes take a full hour to do a page that should take him 10 minutes, sigh.

--Being able to sit, watch the news, and savor my morning coffee as long as I wanted to

--Losing track of the day of the week and having it completely not matter!

    --Reading for pleasure

--I will NOT miss the heat-I can't wait for fall weather!

We are all so different and yet we are missing much the same things. My feet already miss their birkis. The rest of my body misses floating in my pool and sleeping in past 5:15. I must admit that I do enjoy the structure of the school day though.

You can say that again!!!!! :thumb:

I will miss sleeping in, having all sorts of free time, not having to worry about what I need to do the next day and the next week, and being able to use the bathroom whenever I need to.

Getting a paycheck will be nice, though!!
