One of the counties I have applied to has this statement on the job postings: "Applications and resumes will be reviewed and a recommendation will be made to the County Board of Education." To me, this sounds like they are just going make the decision based on the resumes. I doubt it, but it is a small county. When I turned in my packet, the woman said, "I'm sorry, but he (HR) is not here right now or I would let you talk to him." I am thinking about stopping by in the morning. What do I say?
I've never seen this before. Maybe this has something to do with the County Board approving which applicants to interview...
I had not thought about that. The jobs do not close until next Wed. They were only posted for 1 week and there are only 3 positions.
One week of posting here would be enough to draw several THOUSAND applications for an El Ed position.
I would still like to talk with the HR person, especially since I would have gotten too had he been there. How do I walk in and open that conversation, any suggestions?
Where I'm at that would mean the local ESC or county collects the resumes and then forwards the qualified applicants to the district when vacancies arise. The school would ultimitly make the decision. Many of the smaller or rural areas do this.
