Oh, the beach. Hands down. The nicest one costs $3 to enter... and of course, you can't go to the beach without stopping off for a sandwich or ice cream!

All the beaches where I live now are overcrowded or riddled with erosion issues. I'll think I'll just drive the extra 30 minutes so I know I'll enjoy myself :)

That doesn't cost money: Watching a movie at home. I love movies so much and it's nice to "escape" your problems for a few hours.
That costs money: Shopping for clothes! This is my weakness but it always puts me in a good mood. I live in Boston so it's hard to resist all the amazing stores it has.

That doesn't cost money: Venting. I always feel better after getting it off my chest. Thankfully BF is very understanding of this! I also love going out to the barn. My horse can always put me in a good mood :)

That does cost money: Shopping. I just love to shop!

Some with cost and some with not much cost:
Making art from materials I've stockpiled over the years.
    A movie
    A nap
    A well prepared meal
    Fishing, when possible
A good conversation with the right person
Dinner out with the right ambiance
    A hike
    Some photography
Some writing: Fantasy fiction or poemtree

I just called a friend and we're leaving in 15 min to meet up at the Tomato place then head to Jackson for the farmer's market. All I planned to do today was sleep (lots of tornado warnings and watches and severe thunderstorms last night) but because of this thread I'm off to have a wonderful day. THANKS!!!!

That will cost gas money and 4 dollars for the smoothie.

Do you go to beaches on the gulf side or the Atlantic Ocean? I use to like Cocoa beach when I was a young mom. (long time ago)

I love to just sit back and read a book. My husband got me a Kindle Fire for Christmas. I love getting books off of the top 100 free list.

If I get to spend money, I love shopping! I would love (in my dreams) to be able to get my hair done, my nails done, eyebrows waxed, and do a little bit of shopping too!

In good weather, I just can't be unhappy when outside. I can be reflective, but not in a "bad mood". That's free. I also like to sleep. And sleeping outside is one of my most favorite things, so that's two freebies in one. :)

I like go bake (and eat), but that doesn't cost much.

Atlantic side. I'm only 15 minutes inland... even closer at work. One of these days I'll remember to throw my bathing suit in the car and go straight after work!

I love hanging out with my hoosband. He is my best friend and we have a great time together, no matter what we're doing.

We live in a big city that is unique because of its demographics and the fact that it is a major tourist destination. Companies are always screening products and ideas here, so if you know where to look you can often get in on free stuff. We very frequently get to see new movies for free months before they are released, because the production agencies are looking for audience feedback and whatnot. We just went to one the other night, and it's always a blast, plus you can't beat free.

Reading always puts me in a good mood. I am a voracious reader, so I love my nook and all the free nookbooks I find via Facebook pages like Cheap e-Reads.

I'm all for happy hour on Fridays with my teacher pals...or a glass of wine over dinner with hubs...but alcohol when in a bad mood can only make things seem worse. As you know, it's a depressant.

I'm having my good friend and her family over tonight I haven't seen in a long time except on Skype or phone calls!

I imagine fun and lots of energy from her little ones will help us all laugh and relax!

I can't recall ever being in a bad mood honestly. Things may get hectic in my life & I just take it one step or day at a time & that's it. I'm even tempered, so only if I share what's happening w/ loved ones, no one else would ever be able to tell what I'm going through...I'm so even-tempered.

Just relaxing at home watching TV or being on the computer is good enough for me! Also, I like having a fun day at an amusement park 1-2x/yr just to get away for the day & forget about homework, grad classes, etc. for several hrs. Travelling's always good too.

Call a friend, take a walk, curl up with tea (and cookies if I'm lucky) and read.

    MUSIC!
I can leave the house mad, but as soon as I get in my car, my oldies CD is on and I am singing along as I drive to work!
Music just soothes my soul and even the rowdiest kids who greet me in the morning can't get me mad.

For free: I love sitting outside in my swing chair or on my glider and read a book. I love to bird watch, take a walk in the woods, bake and can produce (minimal cost) and fishing with my hubby.
With a cost: take long bike rides with my husband on his motorcycle, get a pedicure, go to my favorite tea room.
