What do you have left to buy?

I still need to get more lables from the dollar store (mailing lables and the big square ones)

I also need to figure out what I want to hold my worksheet folders on their desks and then buy them. I bought penny folders for each desk grouping in my color coded colors (ie. green for science, red for math). My plan is to pre-program any paper or worksheets that they will need for the day into the folder-completed work for that group will go in the other side.

I'm thinking about those plastic bin type things that hang on the wall. I could hang it on to one of the desk sides so it won't take up horizontal space. http://www.officemax.com/omax/catal...ll+pocket&productId=ARS25678&category_Id=null

I also need to get the badge holders for my book bin labels.

I still need to get things for centers..any ideas??

And...folders for their homework and Friday Mail envelopes.

And...Book Bins and mail cubbies

And...a book that I will read aloud to my 2nd grade class..again, any ideas??

My centers will be Math and Science...I think i have a case of the "duldrums". I've spent alot of time and money on the decorations, etc for my class that I think I'm too tired to think...or shop anymore!:help:

I need a class set of the plastic pencil boxes from Staples. I HOPE they go on sale this year.

Did anyone else get the opportunity to buy those boxes for a penny last year? They had ran out of the slider pencil cases so replaced them for the regular pencil boxes. I was able to get 20 pencil boxes for a penny each last year. It would be so great if they did that this year as well.

Iteach...pencil boxes are $0.57 at WalMart if you shop there. I know that some people don't like shopping there.

I still need to purchase:
1 1/2 yards of Curious George material for the bulletin board at the entrance of my classroom.

10 plastic magazine holders (extra large in size) for my teacher resources.

Crayola Markers (after I check my closet in my classroom).

I HOPE I'm almost done. After my shopping spree this weekend, I'm almost out of money. Things that are weighing on my mind, however, are:

That cool light-up ant farm.
The Hogwarts lamp from amazon.
A Hogwarts banner.
Stuffing to finish my reading area pillows.
Perhaps some fabric for a few boards.
A Flamingo light for our morning meeting area.
A giant tiki guy for our morning meeting area.

Andrea...thanks for the heads up! I actually do like shopping at Walmart. They have great teacher supplies. But for the pencil boxes, I prefer Staples. I really like their light blue color...it matches my room. I've used the same ones for the last 4 years. I know...I'm very particular...some may say difficult.

Crayola markers in boxes of 10 are $0.88 at Wal-Mart. If you don't have any in your cabinet that might be the place to go.

I *think* the pencil cases are at staples this week for a penny. They are the slide kind-but maybe they already ran out and you can get the substitute.

iteach...I understand. I'm picky too.

Thanks for the heads-up on markers for $0.88 at WalMart. I purchased five boxes already, but didn't want to over purchase.

I have to get more velcro. Gads, I go through a yard for each student's picture schedule (soft side) and have a ton of half. I wish I could buy just the type I need! And maybe a throw rug for the reading area.

I need more BB supplies. Also, more books would be nice. And bins to put them in.

Eeek! I need to buy more stuff! Does it ever end?

school supplies needed

I need:
Crayola Water Color Paints (less than $1.97)
Pencil Pouches- sturdy kind less than $1.00
Plastic Pocket/Brad folders - less than .88 (currently at wal-mart)

I am keeping my fingers crossed! :)

I wouldn't mind a class set of those pencil pouches you can put into binders-preferably canvas or cloth. Any idea if stores will mark those down cheap? Even walmart had them at about $1 a piece, which is really too much.

Staples Desk Apprentice --anyone know when it usually goes on sale?

Pens (for me)

Sheet Protectors

Glue

Also:
shoes
pants
plastic lunch containers (i.e. Gladware)

I'm going to take inventory tomorrow if I can get in my classroom (If janitors are finished.). I inherited a retiring teachers stuff so I am not really sure what I have yet. :)

I'm not buying anything else. I still have some money left out of what the school provides, and that's all I will spend. I just have to avoid Target, Walmart, Office Max, Staples, Big Lots, etc. If I step foot in those stores I guarantee I will come out with something for school.

I want another lamp, a mailbox system, and possibly some more center books. All of that could potentially wait for awhile though!

I bought some pencil boxes at BigLots for .88 but the Teacher appreaction day is Sat. so they might be cheaper then.

I still need erasers (forgot to put on supply list!!)
mailing labels
twistable crayons--waiting for a sale!!!!!
fabric for the wall behind my calendar

I kinda have to wait until the orders come in at school because I bought lots of stuff with the class monies. Sometimes "executive" decisions are made and things are cut from what we order, so if something was cut, I'll go out and buy it myself.

1. books for math center
2. purple plastic folders from Wal-mart (to use as take home folders)
3. decks of playing cards (for math games)
4. star cut outs (to put students names on for welcome bulletin board)
5. hand held pencil sharpeners (hopefully these will go on sale at Staples soon)
6. address labels
7. a timer

There are teacher supply stores that sell one side or the other. I'd search the internet.

For the twistable crayons, check crayola.com. They used to have a deal where teachers could order a class set for free. That was a year or so ago, so they may not now, but check just in case.
