    What clubs or groups or teams did you belong to in high school? Do you still keep up with it?

    In HS I was on/in...

    -swim team (only consisted of me, my brother, 2 other people, and my dad as the coach :lol:)
    -soccer (my freshman year when there was no swim team)
    -drama (I was really bad and my characters always had names like "street woman 1" or "citizen 2" but I had a freaking blast!)
    -marching band

    The only thing I really kept up was swimming- I was also on my university swim team. I never actually liked soccer, and was really bad at it so it was easy to give up.:rolleyes: Drama I was bad at too, but I do love watching plays. Annnd trombone I still have tons of songs memorized, but I was never very good to begin with, so no need to keep up that:p

    How bout you guys?

    Chamber choir
    Vocal jazz
    Show choir
    Fall plays

    Plus I always helped out at district music events. So I helped set up chairs/stands/risers for elementary, middle, and high school concerts, ushered for the elementary school plays, etc. Basically I showed up when needed and did whatever they wanted :p.

    Man, I did a lot. Doesn't feel like it.

    I kind of marched to my own drum...

    I didn't join many clubs, but I did found two of them that only lasted as long as I was president there.

    I founded the Anime club and the Go club (for the Japanese game Go).

    Not really resume material, but we did have fun. =]

    Hmm...

    Most of these weren't all four years, but...

    * FFA (mostly speech and debate events, but I also raised lambs for the county fair and did horse and livestock judging events when we had to, plus I was the chapter secretary jr. year)
    * Newspaper
    * Speech events, occasionally
    * NHS (president sr. year)
    * Mock trial
    * Hospital junior volunteer (candy striper)
    * Church youth group and choir
    * Marching band
    * Jazz band pianist
    * Research assistant job w/ the county extension service

    My high school was really weak academically, so even though I took the hardest classes I could, I still had a ton of time for extracurriculars...it was fun, but overall I would have preferred more homework. :lol:

    I only included school organizations and not outside church and community things. I have no clue how I had the energy to keep up with all of it.

    Theater, chorus, vocal ensemble (think Glee), literary magazine, Student Council, Soph Hop and Junior Prom committees, Students for Environmental Awareness... yeesh, I stayed after school a lot! Good thing my mom could get a ride home from my dad and leave her car for me.

    We didn't have very many options, really.

    No sports whatsoever with the exception of sixth grade cheerleading...it was elementary and not at all like sixth grade cheerleading is today.

    I was into FFA (chairperson, officer).

    Charter member and officer for the art club.

    And then pep club, an anti-drug club, FBLA as required for one class, yearbook...that may be it.

    Honestly, I am surprised I did even most of these things. I wasn't much on the socialization required, and my sophomore year I starting working a lot at an eatery.

    Good thing I needed to have at least a C average to partcipate.

    Italian Club
    Video Yearbook
    Yearbook (helped out with sales)

    I am the yearbook advisor at my school, so I have kept up with that (even though I didn't do anything related to page design when I was in school. I was just a "de facto" member of the yearbook staff, and the advisor used to give me jobs to do!)

    I went to a very small high school, so everybody was involved in everything! I did:
    --Student Council (and was an officer)
    --NHS
    --Band (At my school, that meant concert band, "marching" band--we only marched in parades and did 1 half time show, and pep band. I played the flute. I was in my college wind ensemble, and still play a few times a year for church)
    --Drama (I did the play every year and really enjoyed it. I did a few of the children's theater shows in college.)
    --County Anti-Tobacco Coalition
    --A peer tutoring group
    --Golf
    --Forensics
    --Newspaper/Yearbook

    Plus I'm sure I'm forgetting some. I was ALWAYS super busy...

    I was never a very outgoing "look at me" kind of kid, but I was in quite a few things.

    All Four Years
    • marching band (piccolo)
    • pep band (piccolo)
    • jazz band (flute/piano)
    • concert band (flute)
    • percussion guard (xylophone)
    • 4-H Club
    • Pep Club (I wasn't in it, but I ran it. I planned all the activities.)
    • Beta Club

    At Least One Year
    • FBLA
    • French Club
    • peer tutor

    A couple of times the middle school band director let me play with the kids at the spring concert. I also joined the alumni band. We performed at a basketball game, a football game, and a parade. I've worked with the 4-H kids over the years with different things, like their carnival. I still support the marching band. I'm going to one of their contests on Saturday.

    Not all at once:

    Spanish Club - Vice President
    Future Business Leaders of America
    Staff writer on the yearbook staff
    Pep club (in jr high)

    I tried out for the color guard & tennis team, but I didn't make them.

    Hmmm...lots of stuff! I went to a small school and was able to be involved in a lot!

    Sports:
    *Basketball (freshman only)
    *Softball (freshman & sophomore)
    *Cross Country (sophomore, junior, senior)
    *Track (all 4 years)
    *Dance Team (junior only)
    *Color Guard (senior only)

    Other:
    *Band (marching, concert, jazz, pep) (Clarinet & Saxophone)
    *Choir (concert, variety show, musicals)
    *Yearbook
    *Speech (junior only)
    *National Honor Society (junior & senior)
    *Elementary Volunteer (senior year)
    *Take Charge/DARE

    I walk/run still to stay in shape. I have done softball leagues a few times and would love to do more. It's the one sport I didn't want to quit, but the coach was a jerk so I quit. I have gone on the high school band trip every 4 years since my class went in 2001. That would be 3 trips now (Canada, Colorado, and New York City). Each trip I played with the band because they needed extras. This year they are wanting to go to Hawaii...I'm so in for that!!!

    Hmmm... I was in the Smoking and Ditching Club. We met every morning in the parking lot. I didn't want to have ANYTHING to do with school my teenage years. The only school sponsored things I participated in were social. I did very well in college, though.

    I grew up out in the country, we didn't have a lot of choices either.

    I was in Colorguard (both for the school and a separate competition team-I still twirl things like umbrellas out of habit :p). I played softball in jv, yearbook, debate for one year (my teacher thought it would bring me out of my shell) and a community service club I can't remember the name of it. It feels like that was sooooo long ago. ;)

    It's funny to look at what schools stuff is considered clubs and other have them as classes.
    I did yearbook and wrote for the school paper, but it was a class (I guess an elective).
    I was in Choir, but it was a class.
    I was in National Honors Society as well....
