I usually put out lots of practical life work and beginning language work that involves a holiday-ish theme, and we put out both Hannukah and Christmas things. I like to do counting works with a holiday theme as well. This year one of the favorites was the dreidel game. It was off of the shelf every single day.

We don't do any parties or things like that, and we do make gifts for the children to give their parents.

What kinds of things do you do?

We explore the traditions of the various holidays and use some of the colors, foods, and music of the season in practical life, math, and at group time. We have a gingerbread house decorating party and every child and their parent gets to decorate a gingerbread house. Sometimes the children make a gift for their parents and we give gifts to the children - usually a book.
