I would like to get a digital cutting machine like a cricut or something. I know there are several out there and hoped you all could share what you know about them.

I would like to be able to create my own designs as well as have access to pre-programmed images (like the circut cartridges). I also want to cut fabric (cotton and felt). I have looked at the cricut and the silhouette. I've also heard of the Sure Cuts a Lot software.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you!

At this point one can not use SCAL or MTC on a cricut. Cricuts are cartridge based systems. You can use the CCR or Design Studio to modify a cartridge design, but you must own the cart. ProvoCraft brought a lawsuit against SCAL and MTC so the necessary communication drivers no longer are valid.

I love my cricuts but keep one un-updated so I can use SCAL. The carts can be expensive, but all the Cricuts are easy to use. I don't now much about the Silhouette but would highly recommend a Black Cat Cougar. It cuts fabric, felt, paper, etc so easily.
