Tomorrow I'm making chocolate crinkle cookies, peanut butter star cookies, no-bakes, and Hershey kiss pretzels. Just wondering what everyone else is making.

My mom always used to make spritz cookies. Maybe I'll have to ask her to send me some!

    What are forgotten cookies?

Meringues with choc chips...you heat up oven, make meringue, put them in oven, turn off oven and 'forget' them overnight.:D

All my stuff is no-bake because my oven doesn't work well. I'm making Oreo cake balls, peanut butter sandwich cookies, pretzel-Rolo sandwiches, and a dessert cheese ball that is to die for. I wish my oven worked better so I could really do some baking. I want to make some Andes mint cake cookies, and some other favorites.

Have you tried recalibrating your oven?

The upper filament doesn't work, and hasn't since we bought the house. It gets the right temperature, but the bottoms burn on almost anything I try to bake. So, I've learned to love the no-bake recipes.

I made Oreo Truffles yesterday. YUM! Only 3 ingredients and the only thing you "bake" is melting the chocolate for dipping.

Crushed Oreos (1 pkg of Double Stuffed)
    4oz of cream cheese

Mash/cream together using your hands. Then make into little balls. The messy part is dipping it into chocolate. Viola, put on wax paper (on the cookie sheet) and put it in the fridge. Seriously delicious!

My treats are all no-bake, but because I can't bake! I am seriously baking impaired. I can cook several course meals for 20 people or more, but I screw up slice-and-bake cookies.

I make rolo pretzels, truffles, and glazed pecans.

I can bake some stuff but cookies is not really one of them. Over the years I have gotten better but only because I'm really stubborn.

In my household, cookie dough rarely ever sees the inside of an oven.

I can't cook but I can bake. Yesterday, I made sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies. Sugar cookies are my favorite but they are time consuming. The house smelled wonderful.

Oh, lordy...glazed pecans, get your fresh hot glazed pecans!

Seriously, my house smells like Cabelas...or the state fair...we went to Cabelas yesterday, and I bought some of those darn pecans, and swore today to recreate them. They are perfection, if I do say so! Especially for my first time!

    Ready for a long list?
    I've already made:
    - cinnamon shortbread
    - cinnamon sugar cookies (these went to the cookie exchange at school)
    - 2 batches of shortbread (one for my daughter's best friend)
    - magic cookie bars
    - chocolate caramel shortbread bars
    - dream squares (really easy--peanut butter, butterscotch chips and mini marshmallows)
    - chocolate toffee crunch
    - first batch of cinnamon buns (for the caretakers)
    - pumpkin-orange quick bread (for the secretaries)

Baking for Christmas has been a long family tradition--there's lots to share if anyone wants to make the trip to Ontario!

I will be making chocolate peanutbutter balls and lemon sugar cookies in different Christmas shapes. I also want to try my hand at the Mexican Wedding cookies mentioned in another thread.

Mexican wedding cookies are delicious, and not that difficult-I didn't even screw them up! (although when we made them, we called them Russian tea cookies-it was for my daughter's country project).

Peppermint Bark, Chocolate mint bars (like fake andes candies but way better) are done.

Snickerdoodles and peppermint kisses for cookies, and pumpkin roll.

BF and I do breakfast on Christmas morning, so I will be baking pumpkin apple streusel muffins this week.

Besides sweets, we will be making scrapple quesadillas and cheesy potatoes for breakfast, and then BF will be making French Onion soup for Christmas dinner, since we finally convinced my mom to take a break and do soup and sandwiches for dinner.

For Christmas EVE dinner, I want to make a santa bread http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Golden-Santa-Bread pretty sure someone on here posted that awhile ago. And I am also thinking of making oyster pie. Sheesh.

I don't know what to bake this year at all. I have always enjoyed making Christmas treats but my Dad is diabetic and my niece is allergic to nuts and eggs. I don't know what to make anymore!

lol. I know. My BF makes really good ham and cheese and egg quesadillas for breakfast, so we decided a few years ago to make them for Christmas breakfast. My sister requested scrapple ones, too, so we figured, why not? They are AMAZING. (For those of you who know what scrapple is. lol)
