OK, so no surprise here - I will be following the Juno arrival at Jupiter. I think that lobster is on special this weekend, and the store will steam, so that and some corn on the cob, followed by watermelon is a slam dunk at my house. There will be fireworks at various locales around my house, so I will hit one of those with my son. The dogs will be freaked, hubby isn't interested in the FW - too late to stay up. All in all, a perfect 4th of July.

Today is my anniversary, so we took the kids and my MIL to San Diego to get away from the Phoenix heat! It has become our tradition for the 4th.

Very dry here. We will do fireworks on the driveway & wet down areas around it. probably do those tomorrow. We will probably save a couple sparkles for the 4th. It doesn't get dark here til like 10:30.

We have invited my mom and her boyfriend over for a cookout. It's our first gathering as a married couple.

Cookout at my parents' house. I'm bringing two deserts: banana pudding poke cake and apple dump cake!

    2 cans apple pie filling
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1/2 cup melted butter
    1/2 tsp cinnamon

Dump apple pie filling into a greased 9x13 pan.

    Add cinnamon.

Sprinkle yellow cake mix over apples.

Pour melted butter over the cake. Try to cover as much of the cake as possible. Add some extra cinnamon, too, if you'd like.

Bake for about 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 350.

    Easy peasy!

I like to serve this with vanilla ice cream.

I'm visiting my parents and sister for a couple of weeks, and we're just laying low. We'll be staying inside, having an indoor picnic, and watching the fireworks (probably on TV since my sister and I don't like the noise). Tomorrow we go on vacation to Minneapolis!

This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!

My BF & I went on our morning walk, saw the movie Central Intelligence, went to a few stores, & ate food from Famous Dave's BBQ. I got a spareribs plate & he got a brisket plate w/ mac & cheese & mashed potatoes. It was good! (I don't care for watching fireworks.)
