Please share you favorite iPhone apps, especially if they are free. Any category, any kind.

(I'm having a hard time finding themes. For the life of me I'm finding almost none at all, and the ones I do find are pretty terrible.)

Most of mine are free. I'm cheap!

I have the apps for each bank, credit card, and PayPal. I have them for my favorite grocery and clothing stores. Love the coupons! AAA, local news stations, newspaper I also love the eBay and Amazon ones. I also have Facebook, Twitter, Google+,
Pinterest. I like Photobucket, Snapbucket, and Instagram for photos. My Fitness Pal tracks my calories and exercise. I have one called RainFree that I use for "white noise". YouTube is handy. Find My iPhone is supposed to be good, so I got it. My favorite games are Angry Birds, BookWorm, Bejeweled, You Don't Know Jack, The Moron Test, and CrossFingers.

Gas Buddy gives the gas prices in an area. Might be good in a big city with multiple users. Pretty useless in my tiny town.

TextFree sounded great. Free texting. However, the servers were down more than working. Boo to that one! To me, the flashlight ones aren't any brighter than the light that comes from any screen.

TextFree is a lifesaver for me. We are currently at an overseas location and it allows me to text friends back home. I thought all iPhone plans came with unlimited texting (within the US) so I'm not sure what the draw there would be. I get some spammers through it which I don't like but considering it let's me keep in touch with my family while we are out of the country, I accept it.

I posted my answer from another thread. Do a quick search. I'm always interested in these threads because I download lots of apps. Some I keep. Some I don't.

I saw some of the older threads but wanted to start a new thread in case there are new apps. I know that the world of iPhone apps can change quickly. :)

Thanks for all the great ideas so far! I've already downloaded tons! Keep 'em coming!

I agree. I'm waiting for new ideas too! Currently I'm trying to find a good calendar program. I think I finally have one I like but it is not free. Because so many of them weren't free, I had to research and look at screenshots first. I am using Action Focus. My only complaint is the icon doesn't show the current date like the one that comes with the phone. I hated all those dots on the month screen. I want to see at a glance what I have going on. One thing I like about this app is I can split it between work and personal and tasks. I can see all of these at once, some of it or just one view. This is great because I put all of my studying information as tasks.

I love Plants vs. Zombies. It's an expensive game, though. I think it was $2.99 but I play it a lot.

Yes, iphone already comes with itunes, among a few other apps. Of course, I have the 3gs, so I don't really know what the next generations came with.

I have a question about data plans. I'm with Verizon, so I will have to pay $30 for 2g a month. Is that enough? Should I have gone with the higher data plan? I won't use it to stream music because I have a HUGE selection of music on my iPod that I will just transfer to my iPhone. I can't see myself watching anything more than a news clip or you tube video. I can't visualize watching a movie on my iphone... Do the apps take up lots of data usage? What do you guys think?

Calengoo is an amazing calendar app... around $7 but, in my opinion, well worth it! I love how you can see the whole month, and see the actual events in the month view (even if the font is TINY). It also does popup notifications for events as you set them.
