Since Jem was talking about making green tea at home, what do you make at home that is similar to something you'd buy "to save money"? :)

I like the Tazo Chai tea concentrate with milk. I pour about 1/2 tazo and 1/2 milk and add some ice cubes. I love it! :)

I make the same thing. The Tazo Chai concentrate is really cheap at Walmart. It tastes so good and is so much cheaper than getting it at Starbucks! :)

I always make smoothies at home instead of buying them. They taste good and are so much healthier.

I'll have to pick up some Tazo Chai concentrate. I used to drink chai a lot but stopped, now I'm thinking it's time to start again!

Barnie's Coffee Coolers. We don't have one here so my mom ships me the mix. Yummy!

Iced coffee- Brew a pot of a really good quality coffee, let it come to room temp, pour over ice cubes- add milk and sweetener (I use Equal). Like iced tea, it's a no-brainer- you don't really need a recipe. ;)

I take Crystal lite lemonade, mix a package, put it in the blender with frozen strawberries, and wow, a great drink. Feels like I am haveing an exotic mixed drink.

I also really like to make smoothies at home.

I am still trying to make sonic cherry limeade, but with no luck so far.

I love to have Strawberry Orange Splash its very simple and very fast to make.
    You just need
10 strawberries (save 2 for garnish)
1 medium sized cup of fresh orange juice
    1/4 orange
    6 ice cubes
Then chop 8 strawberries in halves. Peel and slice the 1/4 of orange, put all the ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and garnish with a strawberry in each. ENJOY!

The only drinks I make at home are milkshakes, chocolate milk and iced tea. I may have to try some of these!

    White Wine Sangria:
    1 bottle of white wine
    1 or 2 cups of diet 7Up
    Cut up fruits
You can also pour in some Triple Sec- I usually do not.

That sounds yummy...I like when hubby uncorks a bottle that he has gotten on one of our trips!!! It's fun to try different wines. We had a really good one this past weekend a Late Harvest Pinot Gris...very light.

We keep iced mint tea in the fridge at all times. Why? Because it's the cheapest thing I can make and it's good for you.

Either I sun-tea it, with a big sprig of crushed mint in a pitcher of water for a few hours, or I pour hot water over 3 mint tea bags, steep for 1/2 hour, then fill with cool water and chill.

Sweeten to taste with raw sugar.

Also good 50/50 with homemade limeade.

Speaking of limeade, here limes usually run 10 for $1. I make limeade a lot, and split the sugar 70/30ish with (don't get grossed out -- it's DELICIOUS) blackstrap molasses. Adds some iron and tastes amazing!
