I always love picking out what to wear on the first day! This time, I need to wear something a little bit casual because for the second half of the day, we are going to the track. (just walking around and eating ice cream--a treat for the freshman for their first day of high school) I still don't know what I'm wearing, but it'll be probably some kind of dress with sandals. I usually wear dress pants and heels on the first day, but I'm not walking outside in that!
I actually have no idea... I did buy these cute raspberry colored wedges today, so I think I will wear those. At least I know what shoes!
Part of me was considering wearing a suit on the first day of school. I definitely don't plan to wear one everyday, but I thought it might be a nice way to kick off the year. At the very least I plan to wear my favorite light blue button-up and gray pants.
We do yearbook pictures, so I would love to include a jacket. But I'll wait and see what Tuesday's forecast is.
Our less-than-attractive staff polo (we are all to wear them the first day) with white crop pants (2 sizes smaller than I was wearing in the spring!). I may get some new shoes to compensate for the shirt .
We already had our fist day It was yesterday. I wore a black and white skirt, white blouse, and black 3/4 length sleeve sweater with wedge, black sandals.
I wore khakis, a polo, and tennis shoes. I don't really ever dress up. In my new position, I need to dress more "comfortable" than ever.
Baby blue white pinstriped dress shirt, black slacks, and my favorite tie. Planning on getting a haircut on Monday too.
I'll be doing a lot of running around that first day, so I need something easy to move in. I can't do your killer heels, cza, but here's a few I've been looking at: http://www.theshoecompany.com/womens-shoes/final-clearance/gossip/prod178XXX719XXXX.html http://www.theshoecompany.com/womens-shoes/final-clearance/sam-edelman/prod131XXX662XXXX.html http://www.payless.com/store/produc...&lotId=099261&category=&catdisplayName=Womens http://www.payless.com/store/produc...&lotId=099096&category=&catdisplayName=Womens http://www.payless.com/store/produc...&lotId=096305&category=&catdisplayName=Womens
Love #1, gladiator sandals... And now I'm coveting the zebra flats #3 and wedges #5... A trip to Payless could totally fit in my day tomorrow. OMG...I could totally plan a wardrobe around these: http://www.payless.com/store/produc...752050&productId=71990&lotId=099752&category=
I almost started a thread on this topic! On my first day of work, the kids hadn't started yet, so I wore a nice, yet casual top & summer pants since the first week back was in the 90s. On the first day the kids started, I wore a nice blouse & skirt.
I think I may head to Payless tomorrow too, cza. You picked my favourites. The wedges may be a little high for the first day I'll have (because I don't have a homeroom first thing, I help the late arrivals and new registrations find their classrooms and help with the kindergarten "criers").
You are a woman after my own heart!! I love the three that you chose AND the ones that you linked...and the advice about buying both pairs. YEP! I would advise the same! I'll be wearing: something like this top http://www.maurices.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13019424 though after looking through them, I might go get this top: http://www.maurices.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13005851 to go with this skirt: http://www.maurices.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12544584 and these shoes: http://www.rackroomshoes.com/product/xappeal/meoww/1302.155398.html
Love the shoes you posted, cza, but know I'd be filling out an accident report because I would injure myself trying to walk in them .
Last week, I bought myself a pair of those new Skechers GoWalk shoes. They are incredibly lightweight & seemingly comfortable when I tried them on. I hope they stay feeling the same after a long day!
I am so jealous that you can teach in shoes like that! I wouldn't make it past 1st period! I'm petite, but I still have to wear flat shoes on 90% of the days.
I'll wear my favorite skirt: super comfy Ralph Lauren cotton in a shades of navy and royal blue and white ikat print. I'll just wear a vee neck white tee with it, and my usual Birks. I wish I could wear nice shoes, but I can't, not if I want to not be in excruciating pain after 20 minutes. Ah well. A great pedicure helps. I think I'll do Chanel Peridot nail polish--it's a neat green to gold color changing duochrome. It looks nice with navy. I'll have more to choose from if I lose another ten pounds. The problem with my "buy only a select few choice items" philosophy is that I'm stuck when I both gain weight and am poor. I'm so picky when it comes to drape, cut, and how a fabric feels.
http://www.landsend.com/pp/womens-s...men-_-plus-size-_-dresses-skirts&origin=index This dress in blue. Going to try to find a yellow cami and then I will be in school colors. Probably white or brown sandals and maybe a belt. I have to wear sandals because I broke my little toe. I can't wear closed toe shoes until it heals. We usually are told to wear jeans and a school shirt on the first day but I hate that - I like to look somewhat professional on the first day, even though it's usually super hot in my school. So I got the blue dress so I could still show some school spirit. Of course we never got that memo this year...
I wore a denim pencil skirt with a blue & white blouse and blue & pewter flats that nearly killed my feet. Tomorrow ends my third week with kids!
I will probably be wearing a blue shirt, black pants, and a tie. Students don't start until next Wednesday, so that is subject to change!
I bought this dress for the first day of school. http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=50186&vid=1&pid=576178&scid=576178002
I don't do dresses, but I really like that dress in the red dot! The others, too, but especially red.
I'm in my 4th week of school now, but I wore a light blue pencil skirt and draped top that was different shades of blue.
I'm really jealous of all of you ladies who can wear cute, fairly high heels to work! Due to a serious ankle injury a few yrs back, I'm afraid to go over maybe 2 or 3 inches, but even then, they have to be a brand known for comfortability, plus even with that, I might have to change shoes at some point in the day. I really HATE the narrow choices of shoes I'm stuck having to wear...& my BF picking up all the sexy high heel shoes when we're at the mall, that he wishes he could see me in doesn't help the situation!
I'm deciding between two dresses I bought midsummer...one is a blue Ikat pattern with a beaded pattern at neckline. The other is a Bargello flame stitch pattern knit in coral colors.
