I'm wracking my brain! I want to be something fun and cute for school, but I'm also going to a Halloween party (for adults) and want to have a more adult costume. Ideas?

I'll be going as rainbow fish for school. No plans for outside of school yet!

I went as a 50s girl when I student taught, I went as a softball player when I subbed one year. I had a black grad gown & was going to be a judge, but all my students said I was Harry Potter's sister ( I had round glasses). Lol.

We have to do a storybook character and collaborate with our grade level. 4th grade so we chose Toy Story. I'll be Buzz Lightyear! I'll be making my wings out of cardboard this weekend.

I'm going to be Mary, Queen of Scots. I'll have a red velvet dress (spent waaaaay too much time at the Ren Faire in my youth), red wig, and a dotted line drawn on my neck with the wording "Please Cut Here". That's for the costume party I'm attending on Saturday. On the actual day of Halloween, I was strongly considering wearing the red wig to school to see the reaction. My natural hair is white.

These are such fun costumes. I think I might go as something zombie. That's always easy. I can literally dress as anything and then just do zombie makeup, lol!

We did character day this week for Spirit week. My grade level was Three Blind Mice. For Halloween, we don't dress up. The day is crazy enough.

Not sure. I might not dress up, but if I do, it'll be some simple pun (fits my personality, and will require virtually no prep) along the lines of "Face Book" or something like that.

I did this last year--lots of fun and very scary! I've got little kids across the hall this year, so may go for something tamer.

At my school, each staff member ( except food preparation, janitors, custodians, security ) gets $ 60 to buy a costume. However, there are restrictions. We have a whole list of costumes that are not allowed; Native American, Presidents, Skin Suits, Romans/Greeks, or Egyptians, Vampires, Goths, Pirates, or anything with a mask that might be considered inappropriate.
So the men usually come dressed as princes ( my last costume was a Cinderella prince which cost 9.99 ) and the females come dresses as princesses. The rest of the money we get to keep.

For school I just wear a Halloween shirt. For a party on Saturday I was some sort of vampire woman. The costume was red with a cape and I wore black boots. This is the same costume I wore last year because all the good costumes were gone this year since I went shopping so late!!

So, if they have a complaint about your costume, they can fire you.

I think I would skip the costume.

Decided to go without any kind of costume today, not even my red wig. Since my school is rolling admission, there is a chance I'll get a new student today, and I don't want to give a weird impression. I'm weird enough on a regular day.

I've gone all out--a Spider Queen with full makeup and costume! I haven't seen a staff member (other than my student teacher) who isn't in costume.

No dressing up today for me. I did dress up as Negan from the Walking Dead on Saturday for a party though.

Didn't dress up today - there's enough excitement, and honestly, I never get around to it :) I have plenty of fun with theme-ing the day around it, though (Halloween-related sentences to work on capitalization, Halloween problem solving, black/orange schedule on the board, tons and tons of plays on words - such as 'Haunting for books' in place of "library" in the schedule, and of course the party itself).

I vote for Halloween being held on the last Friday in October! Anyone with me?!

Today was N-U-T-S! So much excitement in the air. I'm wondering if the kiddos will be on a sugar crash tomorrow!

I tried to get in a math lesson today--it was pretty much a disaster. I dread tomorrow (although, we do have 2 periods of art tomorrow, which should help!)

Granted, there wasn't a ton of new instruction today (they were 100% focused during their assessment, though - yay!), but it wasn't too much crazier than an average day. I'm planning on going full speed tomorrow -- I was joking around today that them being a bit tired tomorrow might actually be a benefit ;)

For some reason, we are giving district mandated interim assessments tomorrow. Yikes!!

Glad I didn't dress or do anything for Halloween. Turns out my principal (I'm at a new school this year) has his own religious issues with the holiday.
