Spending tomorrow on my family's boat trying to soak up the last of the summer sun

Sunday and Monday will be spent cleaning my gross apartment, putting away laundry, going through clothes, etc. I will also have to spend some serious time working on curriculum and finishing up the summer reading books.

Tuesday I technically have off, but I am going to spend the day at work. I also have to get fingerprinted.

    Wednesday the kids come!!!

Monday: Final prep for first day of school.

We've been in school for 3 weeks and I was setting up a brand new classroom/new teacher meetings/meetings for 2 weeks before that, so I am very much looking forward to taking a little break! I'm allowing myself two entire days of NO WORK! :D

Saturday: San Francisco! Our first time heading over there since moving to NorCal.
Sunday: Relaxing, reading, and heading up the mountain to pick up some apples and pastries. :)
Monday: plans, grading, classroom blogging, prepping

All weekend, I'm going with my parents to winterize my grandparent's house. Since Grandma passed away just a few weeks ago and we haven't been back since the funeral, we're going to go clean up her grave and make it look nice.

Everyone else's weekend sounds so much more thrilling than mine...

Getting off to a later start than I wanted on this Sat! Just now getting dressed.

I was hoping to go to SF before Aug was over, but I guess not this time!

This is what I had planned:
    • stay after & prep for week on Friday
    • eye exam Saturday morning
    • gym Saturday afternoon
    • cruise town at local event
    • go to see friend's band play
    • church Sunday morning
    • hang out with BF
    • sleep in Monday
    • mow grass

    Here's what actually happened:
    • had allergic reaction to antibiotic
    • left work early & went to doctor
    • slept all Friday afternoon & night due to Benadryl
    • got eyes checked Saturday morning
    • went to grocery
    • friend's band event was cancelled
    • slept instead of going cruising
    • church today
    • school all afternoon
    • BF is working tonight
    • Mom mowed my grass Saturday while I was at eye doctor

Haha I'm dealing with hordeolum of my eyelid and an antibiotic which makes me sllleeeeepppyy. Wish I could be doing things to get ahead of the game for work, but my weekend has amounted to early bedtimes, long afternoon naps, and occasionally folding and putting away clothes. It makes it impossible to even want to do anything when you feel like your eye is about to bust right out of the eye socket!

I have PD. :p We are going on a field trip Tuesday though and having pj day Thursday, so other than getting report cards ready for the following week, it shouldn't be too bad.

I did just make chocolate chip pumpkin muffins and am eating them now. It's feeling like fall around here!

I have a PD day tomorrow and I'm helping facilitate the afternoon portion.
Yesterday was rainy...slept late, watched sports, made soup, did some shopping (great sale at Loft)
Today I went for a run...we ordered out lunch as sons and DIL coming for football Sunday RedZone ( and they do laundry while here!)

It's still going to feel like a short week ith no kids tomorrow!;)

This year, I don't work at any school, but I think the kiddies have tomorrow off for Columbus Day.

    Today, I plan to:

    - see the movies Addicted & Gone Girl
    - get some olive oil
    - get an oven liner from Bed, Bath & Beyond
    - shop a little at Express...I've got a coupon & $10 reward
    - have a nice, healthy dinner

we don't take off for Columbus Day.

We were off all last week, though.

Tomorrow will be a very long day. We have parent conferences until 8:00 tomorrow night. Ugh.

Yes SubCT, I like to see 2 movies while I'm there & if I feel like it & have the time! And yes, I've been going a lot lately. There's not that much to do in my city, unless you drive an hour to L.A.

That's great!!!! I've been to California once, yeeeeears ago, for 3 weeks and it was one of the best trips I've ever been on. There are all those great beaches..like Venice Beach, plus we went to Melrose, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Disney Land, San Diego Zoo, etc....so much FUN!!!!!

I would love to visit CA! If I ever go to Hawaii (I know some people who live there) I will try to stay in CA a day or two. That's what my sister does to break up the long trip to Hawaii from NY!

I don't have a 3 day weekend! We have school tomorrow so I just did the usual this weekend. My cold is MUCH better but still not totally gone so I'm going to get some things ready for tomorrow then go to bed early!

I didn't have a long weekend this past weekend (it was actually pretty short). We have an early release Wednesday with PD in the afternoon and then no school Thursday and Friday. A break is definitely needed. The days off are for our Union's Professional Conference, but since I made the 6.5 hour drive (each way) down for a meeting on Saturday and some time with my family this past weekend I'm not going this coming weekend.

SubCT & TeacherNY. I was born in L.A. & lived there till age 13, but now live about an hr away from Hollywood & all the touristy places that visitors like to see. I live 2 hrs from San Diego & that city has quite a lot to do too. I go to both cities & a couple more anywhere from a few to several times a yr for a fun day trip.

I've been to HI & NY too & I'd gladly go back!

I'm getting the impression that a lot of states don't have MLK day off. But we do, and I'm grateful for that! We also have a student-free teacher work day on Tuesday. I am thrilled! We have tons of planning to do (teacher-created curriculum), so it's perfect timing for us.

Not the first holiday for me since Christmas/Hanukkah....we have a February ((Presidents week) winter break, Spring (Passover/Easter) break, Memorial Day (and of course, summer)

Yesterday was college football day here...KTs of Ames to watch!

Today I ran a 5K and we are grilling with the family

Tomorrow dh and ds going golfing, I have some home projects to do, shopping for dh's bday and then I'm thinking dinner in a nearby town near the Hudson River.
