I am at a new school this year and the teacher hours are 8:00-3:45 (7hr 45 min) and students are 8:15-3:15 (7hrs).

At my last school teacher hours were 7:15-4:15 (9hrs) and students were 7:30-3:30 (8hrs).

I'm a little excited that my hours this year are an hour and fifteen minutes less than last year. Of course, as teachers we all arrive before the required time and stay after on many occasions, but it's good to know I can make a 4:30 doctors appointment and actually make it.

    What are your hours?

Our hours at 7:30-3:30, and student hours are 8:30-3:00. At my old school, teacher hours were 7:45-4:15 and student hours were 8:05-3:05.

    Teacher hours: 7:30-3:20

Student hours: 8:30-3:00- however students can enter the building at 8:10.

Our teacher day is 20 minutes longer than it used to be. We have the longest hours out of all the schools in the county. Our P decided to extend them one day. The joys of working in a non-union state!

Because my hours are most likely on par with everyone else (and yet I was complaining about the extra 20 minutes), I feel that I should point out that I have lunch and recess duty every.single.day. I have three 45-minute planning periods a week. So, two days a week I am with my kiddos from 8:10-3:00 without even a bathroom break.

Oh wow, those sound kinda long. Around here, most middle schools are 9 am - 3:30, and high school is 8 am - 2:30, or 7 am - 1:30 for some students. Most elementary is 8 am - 2 pm.

Teacher hours are 8-4, students are 9:00-3:45. The school hours with students are way shorter than my last position, where students attended 7.5 hours. My first year teaching we had students 8:00-2:50, which was amazing- being done at 2:50 practically feels like you still have your whole day left! I'm also not a morning person at all so it's hard for me to get to school and be productive early in the morning- whereas if I have students in front of me of course I have to be alert/ready and then can be more productive with planning and such in the afternoon when I have more energy.

Beginning next year, our contract hours very closely match student hours. We start at the same time as the students, and I think we have to stay at school for something like 6 minutes after the final bell.

We are contracted for 7 hours and 11 minutes.

    8 hours a day for teachers: 7:15-3:15
I'm not sure about students yet. I think 7:45-3:00.

My last school was 7:20-4:00, so over 8.5 hours, so I'm looking forward to 8 hours now.

    7:30-2:00 Monday and Friday
    7:30-3:00 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

But teachers are allowed to leave when they are done for the day. Everyone has one day they can leave after lunch (1pm). And all teachers except for me and the 2 music teachers leave T/W/R at 2:00pm.

Our school day is 7:25 to 1:50. Teachers need to arrive 15 minutes before the beginning of the day (by 7:10) and stay 25 minutes after dismissal (2:15), except on Fridays, when we can leave at 2:05. Teachers don't sign in or out, so this is really just on an "honor system".

Every year a rumor starts going around that we will need to start signing in and out, but it has never happened. Our principal stands in the foyer greeting students/staff every morning, so he knows who comes in at what time anyway!

Teacher day is from 7:30-3:00. Student day is 7:40-2:40. We do have to sign in and out every day. It's a pain. We have fobs to get into the building, so they can check when we arrive. Just another power issue.

We are supposed to sign in and out, but it's not strictly enforced.

    Sign in: 7:20
    Sign out: 3:00

All of the students are dismissed at 1:45. Our conference period is from 1:50 to 3:00 each day.

I'm not a teacher, but an SLP, so I work with kids in a group pull-out method. I don't know exactly about anyone else, but I work a 7 hour day, so usually 7:30 - 2:30 or even 7:15 - 2:15.

Our hours have changed so many times in the last month that I'm not sure what to believe. On the table currently is 7:45 - 2:45, same hours for teachers and kids and teachers get a 45 minute duty free lunch break midday. Last year our schedule was 8:30 - 2:45 staff and 9:00 - 2:45 teachers.

We have to swipe or punch into a time clock and out daily. We have to fill out paperwork if we forget to "punch."

Students can be in the building at 7:30, but are released to HR at 7:45. HR ends at 8:12. Classes end at 3:00, regular buses are gone by 3:15, late buses by 3:40 - 3:45.

Teachers in by 7:30, can leave at 3:30 unless on late bus duty or other activity. We have lunch with the kids every day, 45 min planning every day, which is often used for parent and other meetings, RtI data and team meetings every day for 45 minutes. No sign in/out for teachers. Aides and clerical staff sign in/out.
