    "Across the board" were his words..my "guess" from the email we got is that they are cutting 6 positions at my school. He said cut positions would be teachers..some i.a.s (instructional assistants) and custodians. He said that if the budget doesn't pass there will be more cuts... :( I'm near the bottom as far as "last hired first fired..." so I'm realllllllllly hoping this budget passes!

    What they meant by jobs in education was that through retirement and attrition, new jobs would be created. Its not like politicians care about education its that teachers get old and more kids keep getting born.

    To the poster who said "gee just what we need more people going into teaching because of the money etc - well Government is also going to grow and do we want people going into that for money???? lol

    OK I did post that our nice district has some openings see Rockport -

    On Sunday, there was an article about "bright job spots" right now. They listed education but not in my area. They said "education is usually a good place but with shrinking budgets, and school closings it's not a safe place anymore."

    Finally the paper actually put the truth in it.
