Besides the basics, what kind of things do you have in your portfolio? I still have mine from last year but I am trying to update it for some upcoming interviews. Here's what I have so far: -Resume, References, and Reference Letters. -Classroom Management Plan -Philosophy of Teaching -List of Professional Development Activities -Sample Lesson Plans What else should I add? Any suggestions?
This is mine, in a 1/2 inch binder: -Resume on nice paper -Reference list on nice paper -Teaching License -Praxis Scores from all 3 that I took -Philosphy of Education -letters of recommendation and evaluations from mentor teachers -lesson plans (and units) -some certificates I have received (for trainings or completing certain things) -an article in the paper that mentions and pictures me from when I worked at a mentoring agency -lots of pictures of me with students, just the students, me at school functions helping out I would say, keep it simple and short. They are busy and whenever I even get someone to actually look at it, they just flip through it and don't actually read it anyway! I like what you have already. Add pictures though, they really help. I may make mine more simple next time I need to job search.
