Thank you for being so detailed! We are still discussing the CCS at my school. There are lots of opinions but hearing from those with real experience is so helpful
So my school (california) also started field testing starting yesterday. My fifth grade son's class all logged on successfully Tuesday morning only to be timed out immediately after. After several attempts, they were sent back to their room. They then returned to the lab and took the math portion of the test--my son said it was REALLY difficult but he was the last one to leave--talk about perserverance!!! So proud of his work ethic....then today, they took the language arts portion...he said it wasn't too bad EXCEPT the principal received an email from the state stating that our students had taken the WRONG exam and would have to do ANOTHER math and ELA assessment tomorrow?? WTH? It is SUPPOSED to be shorter. Not sure what is going on. I am thankful that second grade is NOT testing at this point!
I hope that they are really learning from these field tests and making the necessary changes and improvements. It sounds like a headache!
