Hi all, Okay, so we are having the week of the young child event at a local mall. Each classroom needs to have an activity to put on for the children at this event. Anyone have any good suggestions? We have to supply our own materials and the kids will range in ages so I am trying to find something that will be cute, fun, not expensive, and simple. Thanks
can you tape up a huge peice of paper and have the kids work together to make a mural with paint...or chalk if paint would be too messy. Thats one of the activities I have planned for that week.
Hi, i think first of all ask them what they want to do, as if they are curious then the things will work out easily. If their idea is good enough continue with the same or else tell them to make mask of any character they like, on the basis of this you can also judge what type of thinking a child carrys.
simple puppets Last year we had something like it...and we had a make-it-yourself puppet center. The kids chose their favorite character from a number of stories and tried to draw them on simple construction paper...I made a border around the character for the youngest ones and they cut and glued them on a stick....they were so happy! Actually we were sort of doing differente "shopping" centers....were kids could exchange make believe money for something other kids had made.... Our table was attacked...everybody wanted the puppets...granted, my kids are 4 year-olds...that helps with the drawing and cutting part. Another really easy thing is chocolate egg faces....my 3-year old daughter attended this activity....chocolate eggs, chocolate little circles, those colorful little things that cover cakes (can't remember the name) melted chocolate and brushes messy but simple and fun! Hope something works
