A new version of the Week of Inspirational Math, put together by Jo Boaler/team, got posted today! The great thing about this year is that they have multiple different lessons/activities, aimed to be appropriate for K-12, instead of just one activity.

    https://www.youcubed.org/week-of-inspirational-math-2/

It has five "days" of lessons, each day focusing on a different "mindset" that's important for mathematicians (well, across all subjects, too). Each one has a video she has created, and then there's one or two activities that have students exploring, that somewhat connects to that mindset mini-lesson.

Even though my team probably won't do it, and thus I'll be a few days behind in the curriculum at the start, I'm going to use this for our first five days, immediately establishing our math block and hopefully setting them up for even greater success than we would just jumping immediately into the curriculum.

    Check it out!

I was looking at this yesterday--I'm planning to use it as well.
