I like that one but I don't like david's bridal.
That is pretty AMK. I don't have the breasts to fill it though haha.
No you have it backwards. The girls make the dresses beautiful!
You are right Jamie...l agree with you about that.
I meant they are special clothes.
I am getting married in April, just some friendly advice I have for you. I had a friend that got married in a dress with cap sleeves. While the dress was beautiful, she said the sleeves were digging into her most of the night from the weight of the dress. She actually had bruises on her shoulders. Also, I was dead set on not getting a strapless dress for fear of "tugging" on it all night, or worse, it falling down! I found my dress and it actually looks and fits better as a strapless dress. My seamstress is fitting it to me, so it is virtually impossible for it to fall down! Good Luck!
I love all of these Maggie Sottero pictures everyone has posted!! Here's one of my favorites: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=J164
I'm kind of a dress-terminology idiot, so you have to tell me, does this dress have those dreaded cap sleeves Ms. K?
Me too. I refuse to go dress shopping in David's Bridal.
Oh thank you so much! I am deleted all the cap sleeves from my favorites list! I bruise easily.
I'm not a fan of David's Bridal either.
sort of like this one, only with more substantial straps, and not quite so full a skirt. Also maybe a v-neck.
Like I said, I have plenty of time to find it...but its still fun to look
I, too, look terrible in pure white. I chose an ivory dress instead. I also got short sleeves. All my friends were showing me all these white lacy, frilly long-sleeved dresses with all the bells & whistles. I wanted short sleeves, relatively plain, and NOT WHITE. I actually bought my veil before the dress!
I can become addicted to looking at wedding dresses. I love the wedding magazines.
Maybe this one...

Oh good grammy, join us and tell us which ones you like!
OH Danny that is pretty.
Very pretty GatorGal and yes those are cap sleeves, you will not have a problem if the dress is not very heavy, but if you have a lot of bead work or heavy satin look out! Also if the dress is properly fitted it should not be all on your sholders and cap sleeves to hold the weight.
I love ivory. My dress only came in white.
It is simple and lovely.
The Maggie Sotero dresses are very sophisticated and beautiful, but why do they all have to have that lace-up back?
Very nice. Simple, but beautiful. The first one is probably my favorite (out of the 3)...plus it has that nice touch of color on it as well.
I've been engaged for 1 1/2 years...and I have yet to go physically shop for a dress (trying to finish my credential first!). But I've spent hours and hours browsing online...and I happen to LOVE the dresses with cap sleeves...have you/your friend browsed through those types? If not I totally respect her opinion, you usually have one type/style of dress you have your heart set on, and she should...it's her big day! Good luck with the maid of honor duties!!
When you go dress shopping you should always try on dresses that you don't think you will like. That is what happened with Jenn. She did not want a halter top. but once she tried it on she decided that was the type of dress that looks good on her. She didn't try on cap sleeves with me. But she is going to go again next Monday. I can't go with her.
I like that one quite a bit.
What is Capri taffeta? Is it that material that makes a ton of noises when you move?
That's very true, about trying many different styles on...I like the cap sleeves the most...but some sleveless are ok...as well as some halter tops are...we'll see when the time finally comes I guess!

:sorry: GatorGal, but that is a dress with cap sleeves. I didn't try any on when I was dress shopping, so I could be wrong, but I do think you want to be as comfortable as possible on the "big day"
yes it is a cap sleeve...and as pretty as they are....I found them to be very uncomfy....tired a few on that I loved...but could not really raise my arms in them.....
I agree that you should try on all types of dresses just to see what works the best. Almost everyone I know or talked to has gotten a wedding dress that they didn't think they would like. As long as you have to try a bunch on you should give it a shot.

Have you seen this? It's fun and I love the dress that they chose for me!
HOly cow Grammy, that quiz chose a dress for me that was so similar to the one I wore... I loved it.
Which one? The one it chose for me is white strapless...it's the one for the quiet, nature loving person! It is sooooo beautiful! Did you look at that black one??!! Like a vampire!
Yuck! Loved the quiz but hated the dress it chose for me ...
That quiz is hilarious.
I especially liked this answer to "What do you do for fun:
Turn off the lights, and blare rock music while I draw by only the light of my blacklight"

YUCK! My dress is ugly. I'm going to change my answer
here is my dress
Hey I'm gettin closer to what I like haha. All I did was change pensive to happy.
I LOVE those dresses so much. THe first one is mine. Now all I have to do is have another wedding! Maybe on our 50th. anniversary. We'll be at 32 years this February.

I really like all the dresses you guys have shown ........... but would love to see what they would look like on a model only 5 foot tall!!!
I'm getting married in August. I was trying dresses on and there were two others there. They tried that dress on. Both big chested, looked liked they were going to fall right out. In fact one of them said, "It's my wedding and I can fall out if I want to."
Here are my favorites:
I have pictures of me in them, but here are the models.
My friend that is getting married is only 4'11. She looked great in one of the halter dresses from Alfred Angello.
The bridal shop lady said you can order the dress with size and short
or the size and normal or the size and tall.
I only like the last one. The sleeves really add.
