Wedding colors

What were your wedding colors and/or if you were getting married now what colors would you choose?

There have been times throughout my life where I could have easily said "Oh, if I was getting married now, my colors would be..." but now that I am actually engaged, I have no idea. The only thing I know is I don't want red to be my color, and I am not big on yellow or orange as a main color but not necessarily opposed as a secondary color. Just looking for ideas, not that I can't find enough of them on Pinterest. lol.
 
Our wedding was in the winter (Feb) so The girls wore black dresses and we all had really bright pink roses. I kept the flowers simple.
 
Deep purple and sage green waaaay back in October 1998. It was really convenient because I love purple flowers and they (obviously) have green stems and leaves.
 
I used dark blue with silver accents in my bouquet and his boutineirre (sp?). I didn't have any attendants so no worries about dresses. I married in July.
 
Ages ago I had copenhagen blue bridesmaids dresses with red flowers and red accents on the tuxes.
I loved my SIL's wedding between Christmas and New Years. Green velvet dresses and she used the poinsettias that were already at the church.
If I had a fall wedding, I'd probably use chrysanthemum colors like gold and burnt orange. The flowers would be inexpensive.

My first wedding was black and white, and I loved it. We were married in December, so it worked nicely.

My second wedding colors were dark green and cream. I loved those colors.
 
24 years ago, my bridesmaids wore teal and the groomsmen wore silver/gray tuxes. Haha! Can you say 1980's?
I had a bouquet of orchids.
 
I got married this past February and my colors were navy with bright pink (Fuschia) accents. So my girls wore navy dresses and carried bright pink bouquets. My flower girl wore a navy dress as well and had a bright pink sashed. I loved the way everything came together!
 
I had a June wedding and my colors were sage green and light pink. I loved it and would definitely use it again.
 
My wedding is in July and I had the hardest time coming up with colors!! I knew I wanted gerbera daisies to be my flower...and that was it. I decided I wanted marine blue dresses with pink daisies and pink tea roses (everything else for the wedding is white)- until the morning we went to buy dresses! My fiance and I were browsing the David's Bridal catalog and came across a cool color called "peacock" that was pretty and JUST different enough from the norm to make us both fall in love with it.

We were married six years ago in December, and our main colors were black and white, with an accent of lime green. I think everything looked nice, but looking back on it, it looked a little TOO formal.....
If I was doing it again, I would maybe go with light grey and yellow/blue......Although I agree the yellow/grey has definitely been overused lately.
I love the blue/nude look!
 
My girls wore teal-- we all share the same coloring and it was a good color for all of them.

Our flowers were mostly white with a hint of peach to offset the teal.
 
I am seeing teal a lot on Pinterest. I like it though. I have teal walls in my kitchen and it is amazing how many colors go with teal. I could probably come up with an unexpected color combination.

I like black and white but that will be way too formal for us.

As I posted on another thread, I like the idea of picking a color scheme, like grey, pink, etc., and then letting the bridesmaids pick out their dresses within that color scheme (not even the exact same color). I feel like "teal" might not be a good color palette for that, though.
 
My best friend is getting married in September. Her colors are dark purple and accent color is champagne.

My wedding was back in the 80's and my bridesmaids wore wine. My favorite bridesmaid color now is probably cinammon. My friend's daughter had that for her wedding, and I found it flattering on all the girls.

Now that I have successfully amused myself, I fell in love of some pictures recently and their dresses were navy.
 
That's too funny, I just remembered seeing a couple of wedding parties on Pinterest where the bridesmaids all wore different shades of the same color, and it looked AMAZING! I remember thinking how easy it would be to plan a wedding with a single-color scheme and not having to worry about matching shades exactly! And then you can also have them buy or wear dresses "off the rack" -- way less expensive! I think this seems like a great choice!
 
I want to go with either ruby red and [insert color I'm not sure of yet], green and brown or a black and white. We are planning on getting married at the Orpheum Theater so a black and white may fit very well but I'm not sure.
 
I think it depends on when... early summer wedding peach and white.

Sis was married late summer she had deep purple.(flower from avatar are ones she made.)

Fam in mid fall was a fuscia and white.

I know someone got married in December had dark green dresses.
 
I guess I'll have a fall or winter wedding because I don't care for pastel colors. I like deep colors, but then again, I'm not the one to follow the rules about seasons & their colors. Spring is a nice season to get married...the weather is not too hot & not too cold. A sapphire blue is pretty to me.
 
My wedding was in the fall, so I had nice fall colors: merlot read, a really pretty rusty orange (think of the callalilly, NOT the color orange), some touches of green too. The girls had merlot dresses with champagne colored shoes. Wouldn't change a thing!
 
Son and his fiancée are getting married Labor Day weekend. Their colors are orange and purple...sunset colors. Beautiful.:love:
 
In July 1993, I married my HS sweetheart. We went with one color.. fuschia. It was a color that I wore for one of my proms.. he loved it and the rest is history.

On a side note, my niece is getting married in October (this year). She is going with a deep red apple color with orange (and perhaps yellow) accents.
 
14 years ago, didn't remember anything. It was a major life accident. My bride wore Red Lehnga (typical Indian Bridal Dress Style) that was like 80's style.
 
I'd say royal blue and silver, especially since fall & winter are my fave seasons over spring/summer.
 
Wedding #1
It was a traditional church wedding. My dress was an off-white fairly traditional short-sleeved dress. I'm not a fan of ruffles and lace, so it was more simple. I had a waist-length veil. I wore heels. I got married in October, so I went with navy for the bridesmaid's dresses. I had three attendants, and two of them were pregnant. I went with empire waist tea-length dresses and ballet flats for their comfort. They had short sleeves like my dress. My flower girl had the same dress as the bridesmaids. The men wore tuxedos.

Wedding #2
It was an outdoor wedding in June. The bridal shop helped me find exactly the dress I wanted. Technically it was an off-white bridesmaid dress. I wore sandals, as did my maid of honor. I loved it. It was sleeveless and above the knee. I had my hair back in a sparkly headband. I only had one attendant. Her favorite color is purple, so I told her to pick out whatever she wanted. We did a color scheme of off-white, purple, and gray. DH bought a gray suit. DSS was his best man, and he wore a black suit.
 
Funny that you say this because I was the SAME way. Not engaged-- I knew all I wanted, engaged-- no clue.

I actually got married last Saturday. Since we did a really small wedding colors weren't too big of a role-player, but I went with deep purple and a dark gray. I guess it could depend on when you get married.

One thing I want to share, (that I didn't realize), is that in addition to your bridemaids dresses-- your bouquet and color is important. My bouquet was in most of my photos. Make sure you love it.

If you really like teal, what about picking a neutral color and doing teal accents?
 
I wore a blue sundress and my husband wore a tan linen shirt. So I guess my colors were blue and tan. We were the only people there, though, so it didn't really matter.

We are talking about doing a party for our 10th anniversary, so that our families can meet. We would probably not do colors, but have different decorations themed around important events in our lives: the school where we teach, the camp where we met, our annual vacations to New York, different musicals we've directed/been in, various hobbies we share (board games, fandoms, New Orleans Saints.)
