hi everyone-i'm writing to see if anyone knows of any (reputable) websites that help children to learn their letters (including sounds) & develop beginning reading skills. i teach 1st grade & would like to give this info. to the parents of the children who are struggling in reading. i hope that the parents will view the sites w/the kids, but it would probably be best if the kids could navigate through the majority of it on their own. thanks for your help!!! :) -meri

    I use www.starfall.com

It is a great site where it sounds out words for you and has a section on the alphabet. It also has stories on vowels.

We use a program called headsprouts. I know it is online but I am not sure how we access it. ( It was already on the desktop.)
